Corp Runaround
The problem wasn't the place itself, it was an old farmhouse that wasn't fancy but it was a good location with 3 bedrooms. The problem was having a 4 pm check-in and arriving at 4 pm and finding all the beds unmade, used towels still lying around, then having to use SMS text to communicate because the phone tree doesn't work and get you to a live person. The "local crew arrived at 8.30 pm and was pleasant, said we would receive a credit for the service fee, looked at CC, and of course, it's there, so have to dispute that now. Prefer local hosts and not corp-owned places. So now will have to deal with credit card company, after wasting time texting them, and sending pictures because they couldn't get a place cleaned by 4pm, but they have no problem charging you for the whole day.
