Beautiful old house in prime location
We stayed 3 days in Grau du roi. The house was perfect. The owner of the house lives next door and is a friendly host. The great surprise has been the town of Grau du roi that has always been a touristic place and I had low expectations in terms of restaurants. There are plenty of excellent restaurants with ok prices, serving sea food as well as local bull meat. Wine is really cheap and top quality (local wine picpoul, costière de Nîmes, viognier).

Friendly and helpful owners next door
The house is well maintained and comfortable a short stroll from the sea. It is in the middle of French tourist seaside town humming with restaurants and shops. The outside walled garden was completely quiet and an oasis from the sunny, busy main streets. There was no noise at night so rest was easy. Parking is in a car park (approx 40Euros per week) as the house is in a pedestrianised area. Refuse collections are daily-which was a nice surprise for us Brits who are not used to this. There is no air con which was not a problem in September for us but I would usually look for this especially in earlier months. There is plenty of kitchen equipment although there were not many wine glasses and they were not fine rimmed. We found it easy to visit Grande Motte, Agues Mortes, Montpellier etc We were struck by the different atmosphere of neighbouring villages and towns, with much diversity. We found the people of this region to be very friendly and the food was always good. We could feel that the owners had spent their energy making this house pretty and homely with some delightful touches. Other holidaymakers we could hear were usually French and ranging over all age groups.

Charmantes Stadthaus in toller Lage
Das Haus ist ein echtes Schmuckstück und sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet, alleine das schöne provenzalische Geschirr war eine Freude. Überhaupt hat uns die tolle Kücheneinrichtung dazu gebracht, ab und zu selber zu kochen. Es ist auch alles fußläufig super zu erreichen, Bäcker, Supermarkt, Fischhändler… man ist infrastrukturell sehr gut angebunden, ums Eck von der Strandpromenade. Dafür muss man abends den Trubel in Kauf nehmen und die eher laute Straßenreinigung in der Früh, wir haben aber trotzdem gut geschlafen, denn die Betten sind sehr gut. Le Grau du Roi mag nicht der schönste Ort in der Camargue sein - viele hässliche 70er-Jahre Appartmentblocks und etwas trashiges Lignano-Flair - aber die Stadt ist ein guter Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge in die Umgebung. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt, Danke an den Gastgeber, der stets erreichbar und hilfsbereit war!

Un bon séjour
Nous venons de passer 1 semaine dans cette maison idéalement située entre la mer et le quartier animé du grau du roy. Néanmoins, aucune inquiétude sur les nuisances, on entends rien! . Sinon la maison est agréable durant cette très chaude semaine. le petit centre commercial avec les plats à emporter bien pratique. La maison et bien équipée pour une semaine sans soucis!. La patio est très agréable pour manger. et faire la sieste! Emmanuel le propriétaire habite juste à coté si besoin! Merci pour tout!

Séjour très agréable proche de la plage et de toutes les commodités
Maison de charme très bien située, aménagée et entretenue, à 2 pas de la plage et de tous types de commerces. Un plus avec la présence du propriétaire logeant à proximité. Très bon accueil. Nous y reviendrons.

Stilvolles Ambiente in einer Touristenhochburg
Ein sehr aussergewöhliches, geschmackvoll eingerichtetes Haus in sehr guter Lage. Was stört ist die tägliche Müllabfuhr und Straßenreinigung am sehr frühen Morgen. Der Vermieter ist super nett.
