Lake Access/Dock/Hot Tub/Fire Pit/Pet-Friendly
Surround yourself with beauty, relaxation and natural fun in Georgia's Blue Ridge and Morganton area. At our cabin, take a swim in Lake Blue Ridge just steps away from this little cabin in the woods with the use of our two (single person) kayaks. This 3 bedroom 1 bath cabin is just steps away from Lake Blue Ridge. With two queen size beds and a twin bunk bed room, it comfortably sleeps 6. This cabin is pet-friendly with a one-time pet fee due upon booking.
Getting to our cabin, the last 2.4 miles is a gravel road that winds through national forest. It is scenic and adds to the feeling of being secluded. It is maintained and does not require 4 wheel drive however cars with little ground clearance will need to take it a bit slower. Sometimes after hard rains there are some ruts in the road but nothing treacherous. There is a u-shaped, level gravel driveway and space to the right of the cabin for 2-3 vehicles.

Boat Ramp Access: the closest access is to walk out your front door and take a left. Turn right on the first gravel road (Timmy Circle) and head towards the lake. NOTE (access is not a concrete ramp but a gentle slope covered with stones and rock.) The boat access located at the cabin is better suited for smaller boats like john boats etc. There are a number of other options. Boat ramps are available at Morganton Point Recreation Area in Morganton. Other boat ramps are located at Lakewood Landing on Old Highway 76, Morganton, and Lake Blue Ridge Recreation Area, Aska Road. We recommend using Lakewood Landing Boat Launch located on the north side of the Lake or Morganton Point Recreation Area on the east side. Morganton Point is the least distance from our cabin. Most of our guests who bring a boat put in at one of these points and then moar it near the path out the back left of the cabin down at the water.
Walking lake access from the cabin: The cabin is about 70 paces from Lake Blue Ridge. There is a walking path out the back door of the cabin, walk to the left and down a knoll to wooden steps into the lake. The kayaks can be carried down to the lake and then brought back to the cabin for storage.
The check in was good, we didn't have any issues with the code. The cabin/house was nice. We loved the screened in porch. The kitchen was clean and had everything we needed. This was a time for my sons and I to get away for the first tine in 3 years since my husband and their Dad had passed. We enjoyed the lake and spending this time together. The main issues that weren't so good was that we were only given one wash cloth and one towel for 5 days and they honestly had a horrible odor as they smelled sour like they weren't properly dried. We did find more wash clothes in a bin. We packed our own beach towels that we used. We were told not to throw the covers with the exception of the sheets and pillowcases in the bathtub that we slept on when we were checking out, however that made us wonder when the quilts that were on our beds were last washed. There was lots of dust on the ceiling fan blades in the bedroom I slept in and cob webs on most of the ceiling light figures. Finally there was a massive Pitbull running loose which made us uncomfortable when we tried to take our dog out and someone across the street from us was working on something and hammered continuously until late in the evening and would start again very early in the morning. Overall, our trip was nice and we enjoyed it.
We originally chose this location based upon it being dog friendly and having lake access via a 5 minute walk walk. Although the steep incline can be challenging it is worth it for those who are able to navigate it. Plus our Chocolate Lab Blue absolutely loves this place. Thank you for being dog friendly
Had a great time at this lakeside cabin. We thoroughly enjoyed the fire pit, hammock, hot tub, lake, and kayaks! House had everything we needed and host had great communication!
1.Pest control still there when we arrived (left shortly afterward), but her sprayer was evidently leaking due to a trail of fresh, sticky fluid on the floor inside.2.Empty candy wrappers under the beds -- underneath not cleaned for a long time. Entire cabin could use a deep cleaning.3.Bathroom door handle knob very difficult to use (needs oiling?).4.Coffee maker was connected to electricity via a strip surge protector that constantly tripped to the âoffâ position before brewing was completed. We plugged it into a wall outlet and had no further problems.5.The dock had recently been adjusted to accommodate the high water level, but it was still difficult and dangerous to jump across from land to the end of the wooden walkway. Young renters might not have a problem making the jump, but we are both over 75. Suggest it be further adjusted closer to land to accommodate older renters.6.Constant construction noise across the street from 8 to 5 on weekdays. Most times not too loud, but occasionally a very loud sawing of brick-type material. This is not something the owner/renter can control, but potential renters should be made aware of the situation so it can be taken into account when making a rental decision.7.The cabin heating/cooling remote control did not work, but a window A/C unit above one of the beds, and at least one portable electric heater substituted.8.Enjoyed the view from the screened porch and used it frequently.
The cabin sits right next to the end of the road coming in. Itâs a few miles in on a narrow road in. Once youâre there you will fall in love with the cabin and the location. Thereâs a beautiful million dollar or so large cabin thatâs adjacent to the cabin you will stay at. Out the back yard you go to the left and down to the left to the lake. 1 minute walk
This cabin is tucked away up in the mountains. The road is one lane and bumpy. We brought our boat and it was a little tricky maneuvering the mountain side roads. The boat ramp nearby was not ideal. We used the Morganton Point Recreation boat ramp and drove the boat over to the dock. Blue Ridge is just a 26 minute drive from the cabin. The cabin itself was nice. Their kitchen is fully functional and they provide pots, pans, utensils, etc. The hot tub was a hit with my husband and boys. If you want to be secluded but have the option to drive to town, this is the place for you.Moaganton Point Recreation
The cabin and lake were nothing short of serene this time of year. The cabin was homey and cozy and quite comfortable and we would definitely rent again if the occasion arises. My only complaint is that the pots, pans, & glasses all had to be washed before I could use them and the whole cabin needed a good dusting.
I loved this cabin, it will definitely be on my list of repeat locations. I have no complaints, the only suggestion I would make is for there to be a safer way to get the kayakâs down to the lake. It was difficult for me, a 46 yr old woman with a teenage daughter, to navigate the make shift stairs with no railing or anything to grab a hold to while carrying a kayak. The views once on the lake however were beautiful. I loved the outdoor space. The firepit, hot tub and hammock were used often. It was very peaceful, canât wait to visit again.
My family and I enjoyed a long wknd in blue ridge. The road to get to the cabin is one lane but it is worth it for the lake views. The cabin was perfect for our family.
Clean place with everything you need. A/C and WiFi were perfect. Washer/dryer were a bonus. No complaints. The lake was right down a little trail from backyard. It is alittle steep, but easy enough for us to carry 3 paddle boards down. The lake was amazing! We loved every bit of it. We paddleboarded 5 of our 6 days there and did the Blue Ridge scenic train ride on the rainy day. We enjoyed it. Would definitely stay here again. Owners are quick responders to questions.
Great location, not too far from the lake but I could see it be a little tricky for older adults getting down the bank to the dock. Water was clear and warm but the BEST part was the weather, 87° during the day and 68° at night, the humidity was low and we never broke a sweat. Absolutely pet friendly with the lake and plenty of woods. We will definitely be going back to this little gem!
Needed to disconnect from work - this was the perfect place to accomplish that! Hung out at cabin or dock. When wanted a bit more activity, went to Blue Ridge and Ellijay.
Lovely week! Thank you!
This cabin is tucked away in a nice quiet area, with quick access to the lake, and a lovely firepit. Really relaxing and beautiful natural environment.
It was a small but nice cabin. Great outdoor space, comfy beds and little extra touches thatâs made our trip easier. Great dock, screened in porch, and kayaks. The owners quickly responded to our questions. Fun place to stay!
Wonderful cabin tucked away in the woods. We loved the lake, so clean! It was a hike down to access so my older mother could not come to enjoy the dock time but kids did fine. It is in a remote location with a winding drive but neighbors around and we felt very safe. The owners were very responsive with our questions. The hot tub was a must every evening! Iâm sure summer time at the cabin is great.
