Cute cottage, basic 'vintage' decor, spacious for one bedroom. Warm and cozy with the fire. No cooking facilities apart from microwave (and summer bbq) but fine for our two nights. Could be a few more basics, eg kitchen cloths, bowls etc. Shower just a dribble. Otherwise fine for a weekend getaway, quiet and clean.
This property is a real back to basics. We've been to lovely hotels and B&Bs but this stay gave us the true rest we were looking for. We were met by Tom, who is a true gentleman, he showed us around and had baked fresh bread for us with butter, milk and breakfast waiting. No oven or cooktop but the bbq was adequate. Chooks visited each day and the paddocks, with the cows in, were only metres from the French doors. Not for everyone but it rejuvenated our souls. We are going back to stay again. adequate
This is a fantastic bolt hole where you can get away and relax, it's cosy and private. Being close to Greytown it is a good base for exploring the Wairarapa.Cooking is simple, on a BBQ, we loved it.Tom was always available if we needed him, otherwise we were left alone to enjoy the space.See you next year Tom.
The cottage is cozy, If you are looking for 4 star this is not for you. If you want clean, comfortable bed. with a view of a few cows and chickens ( no rooster calls). This is the place. Tom was very helpful even gave us home made bread, you dont get that in a 4 star hotel.
A very nice place to stay in the country with cattle looking at you through the window.
A log burner fireplace added to to ambience.
Tom was a chatty person and mad us feel welcome.
We loved our getaway weekend at Drovers Cottage, a beautiful wee cottage with a gorgeous view out over the countryside. Far enough out of town to be away from the hustle and bustle, but close enough to only be a short drive to the town centre.
Tom was just lovely, so welcoming and friendly, and the fresh bread and spreads were a lovely touch. We were very impressed with the rooster who waited until after 6am to sound his alarm clock :)
We will definitely be back to stay again.
The cottage was lovely, it was spotless and had everything you could possibly need or think of. Having breakfast included was an added bonus. Tom was lovely and welcoming. Will definately be back!
Tom was so welcoming, he even let us hold one of his chickens! The house is beautiful and lived all the small touches like breakfast foods, butter and milk. We loved hanging out by the pool and chatting with Tom. Highly recommend this place for a weekend away!
The gas Bbq needs fixing! Dangerous.
It could do with a small hot plate.
We went for xmas dinner and couldn't cook!we had sandwiches.

Fantastic place to stay. Thanks Tom for lighting the fire for us and making it toasty and warm to settle into. Lovely place to stay, comfortable bed and seating, great shower pressure, lovely outlook and private setting. Delightful to have breakfast out in the sun looking across the fields and watching the bird life. Nice and close for Wairarapa mini adventures and dinners. Thanks for a great place to relax and get away into the countryside.
What a delightful cottage in a peaceful setting. It was so cosy and welcoming with the fire roaring when we arrived. So quiet and dark at night, which is a must for me.
Tom is the perfect host. I'll be back to learn more about the history of the old hotel.
Thank you for the breakfast goodies.
The property was very homely and had everything we needed. The owners were very generous and had supplied us with breakfast food. We enjoyed the country location being "townies" and the addition of the log fire. The only small downside was the TV reception being intermittent. We have notified the owners. Alison Kinvg
Thanks very much to Tom and Penny.
The cottage was exactly what we need. Warm ,quiet clean and well located. đ we will be coming back sometime.
The only thing was book a batch made the booking unnecessary difficult with codes and passwords that didn't work. Thanks to Penny for putting that right â ïž
