The property grounds between the front gate and unit were this: We saw a rat cross our path, a chained up dog. The first morning were driving out we observed & I messaged the onsite owner the dog had tipped over its “house” and was standing in the pouring rain. The remedy was the dog was then chained to what looked like another rental unit porch. That night as the dog would hear my husband’s voice from our back porch it would bark. It was still raining. I do not blame the dog for being a dog. Image included of the dog “house” after being turned upright, and dog being moved to a different chain. It’s a 3 acre property with 5 other rental units available plus the owners home, outdoor work shop, and lean to garage space. The unit and amenities were as described. We did not prefer the many lights on throughout the night and intermittent fan turning on/off in our room that made it difficult to sleep. Boy, do I wish it had been a different stay but not comfortable for us at all.

When driving in we had to drive thru junk piled everywhere and a sign spray painted with #6 pointing to get to our cabin. We were driving over bumpy grass, not a driveway of any sort. The cabin inside looked clean and cute, but the bathroom toilet and shower was outside, and cabins/shacks were all close by. It was 85 degrees inside with no windows, just a slider door to open. There was a camera pointed to th cabin entrance from a tree. We turned around and left.

I am giving four stars based on how the description met the actual stay with one star deducted. The tiny house was perfect for us, although it was a long, bumpy, gravel road that led to the property. The overall property was a “work in progress, but the Tiny House itself was darling and well equipped to cook (although no salt/pepper, spices, oil). We used the outdoor kitchen on the deck to prepare our breakfasts and were out exploring the area during the days and evenings. The bed was comfortable but could use two extra pillows. The private hot tub was delightful. We had plenty of hot water for showering. It was easy to access once we understood how the digital lock worked. Understand what it is and it will work for you. It is nice and close for viewing Kilauea.

The cabin was tucked away at the back of the property within the ohia forest. It was perfect size for two people. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you could need. And the hot tub was a huge bonus. It was such a peaceful stay.

Great little plac!

The place was beautiful and so clean! It was small, but seemed spacious enough and was nice and private. It also had everything you’d need to keep groceries and cook a meal since it’s a bit of a jaunt to “civilization.” Keith was friendly when you’d see him around, but not super responsive to messages.
