Loved location. House was nice. Picked it because all bedrooms had queen size or bigger beds plus twin or bunk in room as well. Close to beach access. My only negative was we had to keep chasing the A/C during above 90 degree weather. A/C sets back to 75 degrees every couple hours if you donât reset it to desired temp every couple hours.
Our group consisted of six adult women. This house was perfect for us. Close to the beach, close to shopping and close to great restaurants and ice cream. What else could you ask for? The house was very clean. It was also very spacious. We had plenty of room to spread out all while being together. The common areas were large enough for us to hang out together. We loved the wrap around porches and hot tub. Our group would most definitely recommend this house and we will be booking it again in the future.
I'm sure Changing Tides is a lovely place to spend a week, but we weren't able to find out. I rented it for my daughter and her highschool friends to have a final relaxing fun time together knowing they were responsible young adults that wouldn't cause trouble or damage. Check-in was on Saturday evening and on Sunday morning they were told they were being evicted from the property and needed to be out within a couple hours. The homeowners had been watching the group on the undisclosed security camera "waiting for the leaseholder to arrive", yet when I stated I could be there in a few hours and stay in the house all week, they refused. When I questioned why the camera was not disclosed on the property page or lease agreement, I was told it was so âthey could watch the mailboxâ. This is not true because the camera faces the dry entry (a gathering space to spend time while staying there) and the street/mailbox is not in view of where the camera is facing. There was no compassion for my pleas or reasoning with the homeowners, so the group left as told. Nothing was disturbed in the house and they left it as they found it. I completely own that I broke the lease and am deeply regretful. It wasn't to be maliciously deceitful, it was done with love for those kids who unfortunately had to pay the price. Hard and costly lesson learned for all of us. But I do feel it needs to be known by anyone considering renting this house that there is a camera used by the homeowners at will.
The house was in the perfect location to the beach and town. It was raining almost all the weekend when we stayed but the large living room and hot tub still allowed us to spend time together and enjoy the OBX even if we were stuck inside! Enjoyed our stay and would recommend to anyone!
