We were seven adults and nine children ranging from 18 months to 16. The house was well stocked with everything we needed and the view of the ocean and the pier was lovely. We had a fisherman in the group, and he had a great time fishing off of the pier. We appreciated the prompts on all of the light switches and the two dishwashers were a lifesaver. Everyone enjoyed the hot tub and the outside decks. I would definitely recommend.
Went very well. Only a few issues. Pool was not clean when we arrived and the propane was not on when we arrived. So pool was very cold even after we paid to have it heated. One TV in one bedroom did not work and that same bedroom had a leak from the deck above water coming in the room. Electric in the one bedroom kept going off. Lots of room for the kids to move around and play their games. Room for adults to play too.
Overall great experience.
great air conditioning, the entire house stays cool.
Bedroom/Bathrooms:
Pros-
King sized beds
TVs in each room
Cons-
Sheets and pillows had stains, so bring your own.
They provided 3 rolls of toilet paper for 9 bathrooms
Make sure to hold down when flushing!
Cable doesn't work in some rooms
Kitchen/Living room:
Pros-
3rd floor living room is very spacious
Ice machine is very useful
Plenty of seating
3 toasters
Cons-
2 VERY small cutting boards
downstairs fridge does not stay cold
upstairs fridge has a couple broken shelves
ALL knives are dull
Backyard/deck/pool:
Pros-
Plenty of seating
Pool crew comes out to add chlorine (but doesn't clean out sand in pool)
Cons-
Grill is only half functional, right side does not heat
Sandy pool, lots of random sand crabs
Lots of nails poking out on the path to the beach
One week of wonderful memories that will last forever.
It was totally enjoyed by all 18 of us. Even the brief hurricane didnât affect our fun. The adults said the bar needs some help. Glasses, mixing tools, etc. the ice machine was was a great addition. Because of the pandemic, we ate alL meals in. The stove and oven were small for cooking for so many. We made it work but large families should know that it is single family size. The two upstairs dishwashers were well used. The pool and hot tub are very nice and were used constantly. The beach was really nice and we even got the permission for a fire one night. We rented beach chairs, umbrellas, and a long table. Visitors might need to consider that if there is a large group. The furniture at the pool was very nice but the umbrellas helped. It was a wonderful 60th anniversary with all of our children, their significant others, grandchildren and great grandchildren!!
Pros: This house is huge. 8 bedrooms, 10 bathrooms. Two floors with kitchens. Right on the beach. A couple doors down from a mini mart that had most of what we needed when we realized we needed something. You do walk directly out of the house to the private pier and onto the beach, that was the very best part.
Cons: The house is dated and under cared for. The "lawn" was overgrown in the yard and on the boardwalk/pier to the ocean. The pool had significant sand in it and despite reporting it, the chemical person came out, but no one cleaned and there was no way to clean it (no equipment). There are water stains on ceilings and lots of places with prior renter pet damage like scratched up doors. The neighbors to one side are a set of run down one story cottages that leave you overlooking the parking lot and lights that come from the pier parking lot all night. That same parking lot is public and unpaid so there are lots of people who use it to access the beach making the area more crowded with non-home-renters. On the other side is a house that is very close, as if it it was built together. We could see and hear them and they could see and here us.
I would recommend the house for people who need it for pets and/or kids and a wide variety of rooms. I'd skip it if you are looking for luxury or space and privacy.
