A good option for an overnight stay before starting the safari trip. The room we stayed was a bit small for three people. The breakfast was good and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Good stay,

The hotel itself was good, clean, safe and overall a nice place to stay. However, our check-in experience was frustrating. We booked a room with three single beds for two adults and one child (my 15-year-old daughter). At reception, the staff member insisted that in their system a 15-year-old is considered an adult and argued that our booking was for two adults and one child. I explained that Hotels.com clearly shows 15 as a child, and regardless, we had booked three beds, so the point was irrelevant. She was dismissive, rude, and lacking in basic courtesy. On top of that, she tried to charge us $30 for early check-in, claiming the standard check-in time was 12pm, while my booking confirmation clearly stated 10am. Fortunately, another staff member overheard the situation, stepped in, and handled everything kindly and professionally. Thanks to them, we were able to check in smoothly around 9am. Overall: The hotel is good and comfortable, but the first receptionist left a bad impression. I hope the management ensures more consistent training in professionalism and customer service, as one staff member saved what could have been a very unpleasant start

Ibis Style has a staff behavior problem. Most staff are professional and perform their duties well. However, some housekeeping and restaurant workers have terrible service and attitudes. For example, one employee at the ground floor bakery did not acknowledge my presence at the front counter for approximately 15 minutes while I stood their wondering if my order was ready or still being prepared. She didn't even look at me or indicate to me that she would be with me once she was finished. No other customers were there waiting. Also, one of the rooftop security staff just outside the entrance to the Roof, stopped me and my guest while I was holding a large tray of food so he could ask me several different questions about where exactly I was going and whether I reserved a room for two people and then whether my guest had left her ID at the front desk. It's very irritating to experience this after having been there for over a week and while in the middle of holding a large tray of food. Just call my room to get clarification. It makes you feel like an underage person to be questioned in such a manner. Lastly, the housekeeping needs to be more consistent in when they will come to clean your room. I don't think these housekeepers understand that people are traveling from different parts of the world and from very different time zones, and that inconsistent housekeeping visits, from 9 am to even 3 pm, can be very disruptive to guest's sleep patterns.

Ibid Styles Nairobi remains a great value though the some changes are for the better - additional seating areas for the ground floor restaurant - and some are worse - enclosing all outdoor spaces that were previously open, such as the rooftop areas (why?) and even ones on the ground floor. The good: The beds are still comfortable enough though harder since I suspect they no longer use the Heavenly Mattress. The sheets are crisp and clean, the staff very attentive, the general decor of the rooms and public spaces make the hotel inviting. It appears that management does not pay attention to detail: There was water dripping from the ceiling in the main restaurant, the main floor men’s room could have someone fix fixtures, dings and bumps around the hotel, things that a walkthrough with a checklist would solve. Even though a painting and other maintenance is underway, rather than disguising materials as would be done in the rich economies, junk is easily seen on the mezzanine level. Why is a third-world standard being used? Stop letting the staff down.
