The Neighborhood:
Our condo is a short walk (2min) the main Mansion House with both indoor and patio bar dining, and the latest addition of Thomas Keller's Ad Lib restaurant.
The Grill restaurant and bar, and the Pro shop are open to the public in the adjoining building. The Spa at Silverado is across the street and also open to the public. All are within walking distance from the Suite.
In the heart of the Napa Valley, plenty of open vineyard landscaping surrounds the Silverado Resort. Minutes away are the surrounding towns of Yountville, St. Helena, Sonoma, Calistoga. Wineries dot the area by the 100s, and top notch culinary options are vast. I include a restaurant list in my welcome binder. Outdoor activities include cycling, hiking, nearby lakes, swimming, hot air balloon rides, etc.
Getting Around:
Napa Valley is best explored in a car as the area is expansive. UBER is also available in the area! Wine tours are popular and many different organized ones are available, or explore on your own. Cycling is a popular sport enjoyed by many. Public transportation is not near our suite.
Other Things to Note:

The room was just as pictured. It was very clean. David was very responsive. No issues with communication.
The only odd thing was there a smell when we entered. Iâm not sure if the carpet was cleaned and wasnât aired out but it smelled a little musky/moldy. I did let David know. Oh, the safe didnât work either.
I would stay again with hopes that the smell is no longer there!
The setting is lovely and the unit opens up to a beautiful field of grass and beautiful trees so I was happy on my initial approach but as soon as I opened the door I was not happy. There was a musty smell, filthy carpet and visible mold in the bathroom. I always bring clean blankets from home so I used those on the ground and thought its not so bad. By Saturday AM we had to leave because my husband and I found multiple bugs and ticks and found bites on our bodies. We left and notified the manager who ignored me. I also told her I prebooked for another 4 days for next weekend and I want a refund. She has so far ignored me.
The picture associated with this listing is deceiving. The photo is apparently stretched because the space turned out to be very tiny. The door in the picture leads into the condo next door. It is paper thin. We heard the couple staying there argue the. Entire. Time. As in, I could quote word for word what they were disagreeing about. It did not make for a very romantic getaway.
This is the review I wish I never had to write.
1. Upon entering the unit, we found a hair on the bed. We found a couple more on the sheets inside the covers. That was all we needed. I took pictures, and we exited the unit. After a 4 hour drive, we did not stay there. We ended up returning home. Happy Anniversary to us.
2. There was no way to contact the owner except via the VRBO/HomeAway portal. Since the owner elected this method, and did not supply a phone number (as many owners do), I used his chosen method to contact him immediately. I explained our situation. I asked for a refund. I followed the procedure for a complaint to the best of my ability.
3. He did not get back to me through the portal till the next day. He did text me late that night on my phone, but never called. He asked for the pictures of the hairs, which I immediately sent. He then denied that there were hairs and threatened to withhold my security deposit in addition to refusing a room-rate refund. I am sure he will tell a different story in his response to this review, but even that will tell you all you need to know. Good customer service would have been an immediate apology and at least an attempt to reconcile the situation. There has been none of this. The owner has even threatened my "reputation"! Wow. All of this is in writing in our communication and correspondence in the online portal. Very disappointing and extremely unpleasant for us overall.
4. We received no phone number, and very limited info upon booking -- this should have been a sign. The owner may argue he sent us links and all of that, but the VRBO system strips these out, and he should know that. Furthermore, he never made his phone number available, as many owners do.
Overall, this was an extremely negative experience for us, and I am out good money. That's my experience and the review I wish I never had to write.
Clean, comfy bed but very small. A door separates this unit from the one next door. You can hear everything if someone happens to be staying in the other unit. There was no hand soap for the shower. We called housekeeping but they never brought it. Despite the lack of soap, the shower was very good. The TV is situated oddly. The bed faces the television but it is a distance from the bed and in the upper left hand corner of the opposite wall. I thought it was over priced.
