Likes: location was perfect - right beside the beach with a great view from the balcony, lots of dining options less than 5 mins away, staff were friendly, room was clean Dislikes: the bed and the pillows were terrible, very uncomfortable, our bathroom fan made a very loud, annoying non-stop squealing sound every time we turned it on

Melissa was a very accommodating and welcoming host. We had a lovely stay at By the Sea and wish we could have stayed longer. The bathroom was clean and the room was nicely decorated. There was even a hanger to put on the balcony to dry our clothes. The restaurant downstairs was delicious and everything was close by.

Location, location, location. Booked an Ocean view suite and it was wonderful. Nothing better then opening up the balcony door to a fresh ocean breeze and the sound of crashing waves. The room was spacious and well maintained. There are plenty of dinning options and for those that want to cook there are Marts near by and a shared kitchen on property. The host was wonderful with easy check in and help with carrying luggage up to the room. Highly recommend.

Breakfast, room, beach view were all fine but we arrived at 1:30pm and were unable to check in early even though the hotel was no where near full. This is off season also and it is difficult without a vehicle to control arrival. Other hotels thru out the country were much more accommodating.

Great location with an awesome view! Parking is difficult at best; however, finding a spot is well worth the effort. We enjoyed a warm October on the roof top enjoying the spectacular sunset with a bottle of wine. Front office staff were very helpful. Would stay there again.

Charming hotel that was steps from the beach and with great restaurants right below. Our balcony and the rooftop hot tub had fantastic views of the water and of the Nazare cliffs. Attentive and friendly hotel staff, who we hope to see again soon.

I stayed off season (October) and it was a perfect stay. Quiet, clean, comfortable- slept like an angel. Joao was so warm and welcoming and helpful. There's a jacuzzi on the roof that you can book for use. I booked during sunset- what a view! Perfect way to wind down before dinner. Any reviews that complain about having to move to the other building after checking-in at the main reception are absurd- the building is literally a few steps away. Overall, would definitely stay again during low season!! High season- might be noisy depending on the room.

Little gem! The location was excellent, just a few steps to the beach. Shopping was all within walking distance as were restaurants. Parking was a little challenging but we were up to the task. Friendly people all around. We had a plumbing issue and it was resolved almost immediately by upgrading our rooms. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Staff was very helpful and location to everything was exceptional…room was very very very small maybe 7 wide by 10ft(I probably could have read the size before booking however). Just be warned there is NO parking on site and dropping off suitcases was stressful. Finding parking was also very stressful, we finally found a spot about 1km…

Wonderful September stay

Weather was beautiful, staff were helpful when we arrived and upgraded our room also! The hot tub on the roof was so nice at night! The bed and pillows were not the most comfortable but everything else was lovely! Nazare was stunning!
