Everything outstanding the front door was heard to manage opening but the staff was very helpful - didn't see the thr coffee cups were for a free cup of coffee downstairs - so don't forget it's a great place highly recommend and the hallway looks Like you stepped into the set of The shining makes it extra special!
The stairs down were a little difficult but worth it totally. The cafe below took care of all of our food needs for the two days...they were great.
The rooms were clean and comfortable...I would definitely stay there again!

Speakeasy Suites was a great and confident place to stay in downtown Nevada City. Really nice room (Suite No. 1) that looked down on Broad Street.
Easy to book and quick communication with property. Loved the location and the bed and pillows are sooooo cozy! Will definitely be staying there agian.
Room and Location Great.. .. water pressure and water temp in the shower both very low water barely got warm. I would stay here again if i was visiting area again in future
Incredible location in the middle of historic Nevada City. Beautiful room and large bathroom. Easy walk to excellent restaurants. A steep stair climb upon entry' though.

Amazing location, lovely room
Great central spot! Fun rooms, the most comfortable bed and quality linens, feather pillows etc. A few quirks that are very understandable in a historic building in the middle of town (sometimes loud at night) but they have thought about little things like ear plugs and noise machine.
Great for a couple on a mid week getaway
Wonderful historic building, right in the heart of town. Very comfortable beds and very clean and updated bathrooms. Great communication with host was appreciated. Would have loved to have had a kitchenet but overall, loved our stay and would absolutely recommend!
Parking was in the street or behind the building- you can only park for 3 hours at a time. On our last day of our stay we had to have our car removed at 0830 because Nevada City was having an event- which meant we had to leave early. There was no communication from staff about this. The room was very expensive for no ice or coffee for the room and no parking convenience.
We were in town for a wedding and this was the perfect location to be able to easily walk around, it was beautiful old school downtown. The room was clean, next time if we were to stay we would get the king size room, the queen room was a little small for two adults. Other than that everything was clean, the owners were responsive to letting us check in early. I would definitely recommend and stay here again.

The room was clean and comfortable.
It was easy to walk around the town. Parking in the town was a bit trouble to park overnight. By the way, be sure to carry light luggage because the stairs up to the hotel room are a little steep. I have a knee issue.
We have been getting coffee and food from the communal cafe in the heart of Nevada city for some time and it is our favorite spot, we rented a room for a family member and couldn’t be happier! It was easy self check in right upstairs! Perfect!
Parking is a challenge in Nevada City, especially on a weekend, any holiday, or the recent Christmas Sundays. The stairs are very steep, so watch where you are stepping as they are not the standard rise/run of a modern staircase. The shower was a tepid temperature, which is a mixing valve issue, as the sinks had normal hot water temperatures.
It’s the history of the building and most of Nevada City that creates this charm here. Overall it was a nice quick overnight stay for NYE.
