Simple Cottage Set in the Woods by Lake Michigan

This simple, affordable, cottage in the woods near Lake Michigan has a lot to offer with a newly remodeled three quarter bath.
Imagine spending the day at the association's private beach relaxing, and then return home to grill hamburgers on the private deck. After dinner, you return to the beach to enjoy the beautiful sunset before heading back to roast marshmallows in the patio fire pit.

The cottage is located only ten minutes away from Michigan City and the many area attractions it has to offer. If you enjoy shopping The Lighthouse Place outlet mall is perfect for you. Kids of all ages will enjoy the Washington Park Zoo or the Hot Rod Museum. Throughout the summer, there are many local berry patches that you can pick your own berries from as well.

It was a great home base for a fun filled weekend at the Indiana Dunes. We enjoyed the upper deck for dinners and relaxing. The best part was the golf cart that we took to the private beach, perfect for watching the sun set.

The location is nice, close to the beach and quiet neighborhood. We really enjoyed the golf cart, and appreciated local recommendations from the host. Pictures are accurate, check in process easy. The only critique is that some things are outdated. A few updates could go a long way.

I actually would give this listing 4 1/2 stars. Lovely woodland property that had a very cozy and relaxing feel to it. The home was clean. We didn't go to the beach, but if you did, there beach chairs available to you. On a rainy day, there are plenty of games provided for your entertainment. The only downside was that if you plan on making any oven meals you should bring your own ovenware as there were none available. There are plenty of pots and a few small skillets. I was glad I brought a large fry pan because the one in the kitchen wasn't in good shape. The use of the golf cart was great. Our time in Michigan was spent seeing family and I wish we had given ourselves extra days to enjoy the lake. I would stay here again in a heart beat. The host was easy to communicate with and check in was easy.

Better than expected

The listing is more spacious and even nicer that the pictures show. It had everything we could possibly need. The beach was beautiful. The beds aren't the best, but plenty of blankets, pillows, and linens. We loved the golf cart, location to everything we wanted to do, and the communication with host. A wonderful experience. I hope to book it again sometime. We cooked out on the grill and enjoyed the deck over looking the woods. It's a beautiful cottage, very clean and cozy.

Such a wonderful place to stay! Great location to the quiet, clean and very nice beach and in a beautiful wooded setting. The house had everything we could have wanted or needed for the week. Wonderful, quiet neighborhood in walking distance to the beach, and easy driving distance to Indiana Dunes State and National parks. Owners have plenty of items on hand if needed, such as beach items, a dog crate if you are traveling with your fur baby, and even a high chair if you are traveling with a small child. There is also a golf cart for your use! Cute shops and great places to eat in downtown New Buffalo. Lots of outdoor seating at the house, including a grill and a firepit.

Super cozy cute well appointed house. The location in variety of activities around the neighborhood were way beyond our expectations. Walking to the private beach and the area were huge bonuses. This is a really cool community with interesting architecture and beautiful wooded streets to walk. I really liked the area. In the proximity to all the great parks around there.

Best kept secret in the woods

Planned this trip for my Hubby's birthday and anniversary. It was absolutely perfect. Close to the beach everything we wanted to do in the area. The house was very cute and clean. Very quiet neighborhood and everyone we met were very friendly. Property manager was very helpful and also very friendly. I would definitely recommend staying here. I will be booking next year for sure!

This house needs a better cleaning service, cobwebs on the lights, terrible musty smell throughout the house. One bedroom smelled like cigarette smoke. Beds aren't the best. We had 2 rainy mornings and there was nothing there for kids to do, a few board games or a deck of cards would be a nice touch. Directions for beach parking were confusing.
