How close is Fab Studio | Walk to Food and Music | Pet Friendly to the airport?
This vacation home is 16 mi (21-min drive) away from the Louis Armstrong New Orleans Intl. Airport (MSY) airport, the closest popular airport to the property.
The kitchen was clean righ size for my sister and I we didnt even cook at all lol! We wished if we were younger and and lived together this would be the type of place we would definitely go for!!!The place was very clean and not far from anything. We really enjoyed our stay and if we book again we will definitely be staying there!!!! Thank you all sooo much!!!
The area that it is close to is called Bywater. Lots of great restaurants and bars. So much more affordable than the French quarter! Every one was super nice.
This was a cute and clean little place. The neighborhood was scary. It was just not something I was comfortable withâŠThe temperature in the unit was difficult to control mostly because the AC unit was extremely loud. The mattress seemed nice but there was little to no support- I believe the box spring was sprung. The host was very responsive and I believe both issues are being addressed.
We really enjoyed our stay here. While the neighborhood may not be the most picturesque it was safe and an easy walk to all the places you want to visit. Our only complaint is the mattress. Itâs a pretty thin foam mattress sitting on just bedsprings. This could easily be improved. Other than that it was a great place. Owners very communicative
This studio was well suited for my needs and my stay (me and my two dogs). While parking is available right out front, it is on the shoulder of a sometimes busy street. While I was anxious about parking, I chalked it up to my unfamiliarity of the area. I should add that street parking off the main road is very close, but I felt more comfortable keeping my car within view. This studio does share a wall with an adjacent unit so you may hear sounds of footsteps/conversation. But if you have the television on in the background, most of that noise goes unheard. In summary, the property meet my expectations.
Cons: The street was kinda sketchy - definitely not a place you want to be outside after dark; during the daytime it's pretty average for a big city. Despite technically being in walking distance of some restaurants, taking the car felt much safer. Road and pedestrian noise can be somewhat loud at times, and something under or beside the unit (plumbing maybe?) kept creaking randomly; I sleep with a white noise machine anyway which drowned out all those noises sufficiently but without that I wouldn't have been able to sleep.
Pros: It met all my needs, really. It was affordable, dog friendly, very clean, felt surprisingly spacious for so little square footage, the water got real hot real fast, window A/C worked well (don't use it for heat though, use the space heater instead), wifi speed was good, bed was pretty comfortable, dishes and toiletries were provided, and checking in and out was painless.
The place is perfect for an overnight stay or if you are coming for Mardi Gras.
Reminds me of a hotel room but more homey. The place is clean and well stocked.
My only true complaint was we had to be out by 10:00 (which was fine) but the cleaning crew was literally waiting for us to leave. When we got into my car the time was 10:02. I had never had people waiting for us to leave. It was a little odd.
Otherwise the place way fine.
Friendly and responsive hosts made check-in/out a breeze. Place is as advertised.
Areas for improvement:
- A/C unit is loud; kicks on and off intermittently and disrupts sleep.
- Foam mattress did not provide enough support for my partner; he's170 lbs.
- The kitchen is equipped with the basics, but it would have been nice to have aluminum foil, plastic food wrap, and a hot water kettle.
Overall, a cozy and comfortable place to stay in New Orleans. Thanks for hosting us.
We stayed during a severe cold spell and were extremely grateful for the responsiveness and generosity of the hosts. We enjoyed several places right near the house and were able to walk to all of the key locations!
