Incredibly frustrating
After booking I was required to sign up for some type of automated portal. Here I was told that I owed a deposit. Fine. Then I get a sort of hostile email from a company I’ve never heard of with language involving my upcoming “move in” and “lease”. It was a 4 night vacation.
The same suspect company said that actually I owed the entire sum for the 4 night stay. So I went back to my “portal” where it said I owed nothing at this time.
This was all so strange and impersonal.
I emailed a screenshot of my “portal” message back to the company I had never heard of (the one that spoke of leases).
A week before my stay I called one of the 3 mysterious numbers. Of course no one answered. I left a message enquiring about check in procedures. No response. I emailed the mysterious company. Again: oh you owe us money. Pay no attention to what the “portal” says.
What good is this portal?
Well I paid my money in full and they sent a 3 page list of instructions including 3 different codes to access the property and 3 separate numbers I could call to have no one answer.
Got there. Thermostat seemed to be a touchscreen. A touchscreen that didn’t work. This was a big problem. I furiously started calling and texting through my list of phone numbers. I finally got a text back asking if they could call me. Well by this point I (I am an engineer) had figured out the peculiar thermostat.
No instructions. And worst of all no WiFi network or password were provided. I repeat: NO INTERNET!
