Door was broken, heat wouldn’t work and shower didn’t work. The place needs a remodel and we didn’t have room to do anything but walk around the beds. Nothing was like what was advertised on internet.

Dear Angela, Thank you for your feedback. Please accept our sincerest apologies that your time here fell short of your expectations. We are working hard and investing in our hotel to improve our guest experience. As part of that, we are renovating rooms and incorporating the latest technology. We are also creating inviting public spaces on every floor for our guests to enjoy. Being in such a prime location in NYC means that the demand for our hotel is high. Our modernization program, which commenced during our centennial year has now progressed into its third phase of renovation. Great things are coming to New York’s Hotel Pennsylvania. We hope you'll return and give us another chance at exceeding your expectations. Sincerely, Gene Nicotra, Vice President/General Manager

The room was awful, very old, dirty, outdated.... nothing tondo with the pictures... very misleading... the continental breakfast is in another place near the hotel that is also low quality.... the front desk manager wrote me to come by the front desk for a supposed upgrade and when I went they told me there weren’t any more rooms...

Thank you for taking the time to share your review. We are working hard and investing in our hotel to improve our guest experience. As part of that, we are renovating rooms and incorporating the latest technology. We are also creating inviting public spaces on every floor for our guests to enjoy. Being in such a prime location in NYC means that the demand for our hotel is high. To ensure we keep up with our guests' needs, we have purchased check-in kiosks to speed up that process for our guests. That process can be challenging, especially when we encounter a large tour group arriving by bus, which may slow down the check-in process. Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. It saddens us to see that some aspects of our accommodations didn't meet your expectations. We have spoken to our team about the unwanted odor you experienced and the issues in your bathroom. Rest assured that our team is working on it to improve our accommodations. Should your travels lead you back to the area, we hope for the chance to make it up to you. Sincerely, Gene Nicotra, Vice President/General Manager

Use caution when booking this hotel! We stayed here as a family of 4 with 2 teenagers. It is very sketchy & looks nothing like the pictures on the website. They show pictures of an updated hotel room to lure you in to booking, but when you arrive you’re put in a room that looks like it is the scene of a 1970s horror film. From the elevators, you have to navigate very long, dark hallways with many turns to get to your room. The paint is peeling off the walls & what you would consider decor is hideous. There are no amenities in the room (ie. bottled water) or even glasses for tap water. They don’t provide you with a comforter or blanket, just a scratchy, sandpaper sheet to cover up with. The so-called window AC unit does nothing to provide air circulation in the room, so it is muggy & hot. The beds are nothing more than a layer of 2-ply toilet paper over wood & springs. The bathroom is so small & dated that it is difficult for 1 adult to shower & change clothes especially with a door that does not close. Thankfully we were able to find our family another hotel to book & checked out early the next morning so we could salvage the rest of our trip to NYC!

Good location. Parking $55 24 hours BUT ONLY ONE IN AND OUT, 55 DOLLARS each time you leave you pay 55. Old carpet, hard bed mattress, walls are way over due for painting. Way over priced. I give it a half star rating.
