The room was small and cozy perfect for a visit to times square. I love that it had a heater and everything was working great. Everything was walking distance and was very convenient because we had no need for taxi’s to get to the Central Park, Times Square, The Edge View, and other popular tourist attractions. The only bad review about this hotel was that the receptionists were very unwelcoming and did not make eye contact with us. Out of the 3 different receptionists that we saw during our stay they where all the same.

Finding a place in NYC for an affordable price can be challenging. We ran into a few issues during our stay. We had arrived well before the check in time of 4pm (which is very late in my opinion) and had called around 1pm to see if early check in was available. We were told it was possible, but not guaranteed. They recommended we come by an hour later, so we did and were turned away and told to come back around 3pm. When we arrived at 3, we were once again turned away, but were able to leave our bags. We came back at 4pm and were told our room still wasn’t ready and weren’t able to access it until 4:20pm. While the room was clean and tidy, it smelled of very strong cleaning chemicals. The towels are very small, so don’t expect anything luxurious. I initially thought we were going to be stuck taking cold showers, but realized it just takes the shower about 10-15 minutes to get hot. So if you’re on the 4th floor, plan ahead and start your shower well in advance to heat up. The bed was very comfortable and the location was extremely convenient. Staff members were friendly, but the woman at the desk was on her phone and didn’t acknowledge us when we walked by. The common area was cute and well designed and a great spot to have breakfast or a snack. Not sure I would stay here again, but it worked for our 2 night stay.

Property was exactly what we needed for a quick trip to NYC. Clean room, great location. Staff addressed the one concern we had quickly. There is not an elevator in the property but that was not an issue for us. I would recommend and stay there again.

The room is bare minimum with no frills but clean and just what we needed. We spent most of our time touring the city. For the price and location JG was a good choice. I would stay here again.

The first room we were given was disgusting, the bed frames were filthy, stains that looked like blood, and dust, dirt, and crumbs caked all around. We asked the staff the next morning if we could switch rooms and showed them photos of everything. The front desk person, Kalvin was not helpful or kind. He eventually agreed to switch the room (shouldn’t have even been a question) but then took our room keys and wouldn’t disclose our new room or when it would be available. We had no choice but to leave our luggage there and trust that we’d get a new room, because he wasn’t willing to engage in a discussion with me when I asked if he could text us our new room number or when it was available, and asked how we would get access to the building without key cards. We didn’t get a new room until the evening (more than 8 hours after we notified them of our concerns). Moreover, while we were staying there, another guest saw a rat in their room and the hotel did nothing to remedy that situation for them. It’s not ADA complaint, multiple safety issues like broken railings. I’m not sure why this place has decent reviews because it’s terrible! If all or that isn’t enough, the mattresses are paper thin and have broken springs. AVOID AVOID AVOID!

The room was mostly clean, found a few hairs on things and that generally grosses me out. It is extremely small, basically room for the bed only and a bed small fold down table and chair. There is a refrigerator, which was nice and a nice break room right outside our room that had a second bathroom and coffee maker, refillable water machine. Nice amenities because the bathroom door is basically a sliding plastic partition rather than a door. Lastly, there is no enclosure for the shower so the entire bathroom floor gets pretty wet when showering. It was a good location, but be careful because the door is hidden so we passed it like 5 times before we realized that it was the door to the hotel. Also no elevator so be sure you are comfortable with stairs. It was cheap in comparison, but not worth the price in my opinion. I don’t think I would stay here again.
