The out side looks really nice but the inside looks very dingy. They were in the middle of upgrades

Enjoyed the comfortable bed and coziness of an older hotel. Brunch was delicious.

Descent hotel with small rooms and tiny bathrooms.

Pros: The lobby was fine.
Cons: See above.
Location: Location was good.
To be fair we stayed in a standard room because of the deal through Travelocity. The room was quite small, but comfortable. The bathroom was extremely small and the shower was about 3 ft x 3 ft. Not what I expected in a hotel called Grand. The breakfast was a buffet served from 6:30 AM. We arrived for breakfast at about 8:30 and the food seemed like it was sitting out since 5:00 AM. Nothing was good except for maybe the juice. Not even as good as your typical Fairfield or Hampton Inn. We won't return to the hotel.

Frustrating

Pros: It had a Victorian look and very classy rooms.
Cons: Customer Service, cleaning , towels provided when asked. Not being penalized for arriving early.
Location: Location was great! A lot to do nearby, a lot of restaurants and shops. Quaint town.
Since I booked my hotel and flight together through Travelocity it literally said I did NOT have to contact the hotel, that they received my flight information and I was confirmed. Not the case at all! I had a red eye flight and arrived at the hotel at 7:00am. They charged me an 'early arrival fee' of $75.00 which I was not aware of. I had a function to get ready for that afternoon so I had no choice but to pay it. That evening when I got back from my function I asked the front desk for towels since I used the ones earlier. She asked what room and they would send them right up. Soon after the front desk called and whomever handles towels would not be in until after 11:30pm. I said to forget it, never got the towels. The following day I was gone most of the day and the room was never cleaned. When I went to check out and I explained the towels, early check in fee I was not aware of they said that since I booked it through Travelocity there was nothing they could do. This was a beautiful hotel and very centrally located to where I need to be when I return to New York but I would never stay there again or recommend them.

Glad it was only one night

Small room but worst issue was the noise coming from an exhaust vent on a roof two floors below my room. The noise was constant and suffice it to say I did not get much sleep. When I complained to the front desk associate checking me out the next morning she couldn't care less. I would never stay at this hotel again.

A negative feature in an overall satisfactory stay.

We had to cary luggage up and down a steep flight of stairs to get it to and from our room inn an isolated part of the ground level.

Fantastic Wedding!!!

I had my wedding at The Grand Summit Hotel for 150 guests. The ceremony was beautiful and many of the guests complimented the food. It's amazing what you get for the price. Very reasonable for price per guest. We chose to have it in the morning from 11:30am for the ceremony, cocktail hour from 12 to 1pm, and then reception from 1pm to 5pm. I recommend the morning wedding because your guests are lively and when they leave, they will not be tired for the drive home or the following day. Plus, you save close to half price for each guest. The staff takes care of a lot during the wedding. No rehearsal necessary. You are walked through it without any problems the day of. The ballroom is elegant. The cocktail hour is in a great area with tons of windows for a beautiful open feel. I didn't want my wedding in a hotel because I thought it would have the wrong impression, but this is a very old building with tons of charm and grace. You get a complimentary suite that is 2 large rooms and a nice bathroom. You will have plenty of room for your wedding party to get ready without feeling overwhelmed. You will all fit comfortably. The rooms are very nice and clean. Your guests will love if you have accommodations available to them without having to drive from the reception. Plus, you can request a free pass to the Summit YMCA down the street for your entired stay. Great facility. Have your wedding here! Teresa, the assistant director of catering, will certainly guide you with ease through the whole planning process. It was a pleasure working with her. Have your wedding here!

Quiet Luxury

We only stayed for one night, but what a pleasant surprise! A luxurious facility with great dining in a quiet location. Convenient to NYC & Pennsylvania. Rooms are spacious. Great rates off-season. May be difficult to find--we probably would not have found it without GPS.

Fantastic stay at the Colonnade

This hotel is lovely. The front desk staff were wonderful, the rooms were lovely (I got an upgraded room w/sitting area b/c I joined the I Prefer Program before I left home), the concierge was very knowledgeable, the bellman was delightful. This hotel is located in the Back Bay area and is close to Newbury Street, upscale malls, 7 Eleven (no vending machines in hotel), and the T entrance is RIGHT in front of the hotel. My experience at this hotel was perfect and I will stay at the Colonnade again in a heartbeat!
