Booked a room for 1 night on Expedia, the fee was $99 & I was to pay on arrival.
Arrived at around 1730hrs that afternoon & paid $100.39 by card, the receptionist said there was a merchant fee.
No towels in the room & no rubbish bin. The receptionist handed me 2 towels & said she would find a bin & bring it up to me. She never did.
Departed 0700hrs the next morning & handed my key to the receptionist on the way out.
Checked my bank statements the next day, to find I'd been charged another $99.
Have been calling their office phone repeatedly for the last 3 days but cannot make contact. Managed to get through to a lady yesterday afternoon, who said she'd look into it & call me back, but never did.
Have left voicemail messages & sent emails, but no reply.
The customer service at Ibis Budget Newcastle (Wallsend) is atrocious, I do not recommend this property at all.
