Comfortable hotel with nice room views
Comfortable hotel with nice room views. Convenient for city centre and gig venues eg boiler shop. Breakfast was average , could’ve been more variety for a 4 star hotel but it was tasty. Housekeepers knocked on our door twice with DND sign on the door to ask if we were leaving as we extended our stay - feel like they could’ve gone down to ask the reception team without disturbing us twice. All in all a good stay though. Would stay again

We have stayed at this hotel on a number of occasions recently as part of an extended stay in Newcastle. My previous review has not appeared for some reason, perhaps it was too scathing?? It's an average hotel in an excellent location by the river with some aspects of cleaning leaving much to be desired. The front of house staff were without exception extremely helpful, the reservations team less so!!! We initially stayed in a standard twin with a bay window and excellent views of the river. Subsequently we moved to a club twin on the top floor which I feel is not worth the extra money as they don't have a bay window and the view is obscured by the roof structure. A further extension to our stay was thwarted by the reservations team, to comment further risks this review going unpublished as well.

Put with the coach tour!
We were given a room which could best be described as mediocre. We were put with a coach party, who of course aren't generally given the best rooms. Were we given a poor room because we used an Hotels.com reward night which lowered the cost?

Could be wonderful, but is merely ok.
An hotel desperately in need of an upgrade. Plus points: The staff. A river view. Free parking on the edge of Newcastle city centre. Negatives: A room which would not pass muster for a budget hotel. Stark, plain - not a single picture on the wall, with two very poor single beds. Crashing noise from the adjacent Metro train bridge.

Perfect for City Centre overnight stays
Lovely welcome by two girls on reception. We were able to check in and leave our bags as we arrived just after lunchtime. However, when we arrived back at 1600 there was a huge queue we had to join in order to collect our keys. The hotel has fabulous views over the river. Slightly dated and tired in the room, but very clean. Mattress was very squishy with no support and the springs made noises when you turned over.

We enjoyed our Saturday night stay. The room was large and clean with a nice view of the river. Parking was really convenient (£10) and the breakfast was excellent. Only a 10-15 min walk to the utilita arena. This our go to hotel at Newcastle.
