These are the things the Holiday Inn needs to change in order to make the experience so much better: The pool is incredibly small compared to the online photos. The rooms are incredibly small and dated, even though we paid for an upgraded ocean view room. While the beds are comfortable, the pillows are so thick that it hurt my neck and I ended up sleeping on a rolled up towel the entire week. Majority of the staff is not very friendly and the lobby needs some fans because it is sweltering hot even though it’s not hot elsewhere. It is absolutely absurd to have to pay for shade while on the beach.

Their beach par on premise is a JOKE! $20 for a quesadilla then they tacked on another 3% “service charge.” Plus I had to tip. So $27 for a quesadilla. I’ve stayed in other resorts and they don’t have a service charge. The whole reserving your palapa and having to pay for it is nonsense. I didn’t pay once and just used whatever empty palapa was available. It should be first come first serve and guests shouldn’t have to pay.

Rooms are not ready until 4-430 pm. There is a changing room and safe area for bags. Staff without smiles or greetings. Concierge does not help with taxis, security does, but then security sent us back to concierge, who sat in her booth shook her head at us. We waked to the hyatt and readily had a taxi. No bell staff to help with bags. Rooms were clean and comfortable bathroom is updated. Towel hut hours 9-6 so keep in mind if have early morning excursion, must return towel to have new card for the next day. The property is massive be sure to reserve your beach area via QR code when you get there for a spot.

This was my 4th trip to Aruba and I wasn’t sure what to expect from the holiday inn. From the moment we arrived, the front desk was very accommodating and friendly. The grounds were kept clean and everyone was just friendly. I enjoyed my stay very much and would definitely stay here again, however if you are looking to be catered and pampered, then look elsewhere. This hotel is very much self service.

The rooms were clean and they clean them often. All the staff is amazing. Only gave 4 stars because I paid for an Ocean view room and our view was another hotel and the street and shops. You had to stand at the balcony gate and look to the side to see part of the “ocean view.” Overall I would recommend the hotel to people wanting to be more local.
