This vacation rental welcomes up to two dogs per reservation year-round.

Cozy oceanfront beach cottage with ocean views. This home features three Smart TVs with basic cable, wireless internet access. Traditional beach cottage with pack-n-play, beverage fridge, covered porch and deck. Foot and body rinse on the deck and under home storage. Empty lot to the east that affords privacy. Relax in the expansive open floor plan living area or head over to the beach for a day full of fun in the sun.

The property was in a great location convenient to many attractions and fun things to do. It was great for my dog as there was easy access to a nature walk and back porch for him to have more outdoor time. I marked down cleanliness due to some bugs on the back porch that came out at night. Amenities were good. Thanks for a great experience.

Overall great experience

The stay at the cottage was great. Very clean. The entire house was stocked with everything you could need. The only complaint we had was that you could not actually see the beach from the deck due to the dune being so high. We booked an oceanfront cottage to being able to enjoy the views from the deck and you just get a dune view from this house. Other than that, the place was perfect.

We really enjoyed staying here! Place was slightly outdated but the location was amazing along with the cleanliness of the house! We loved it so much we ended up booking an extra night. Perfect place to bring your dog as well!

No beach view

Upon arrival, I felt deceived. The listing photos don't fully depict the property. There is no beach view. There is a view of a dune wall. You can see a sliver of the ocean right above the dune. The photos depict a deck with a beautiful view of the beach and Adirondack chairs for lounging and watching the waves. This is not what you get. Pros: location, comfy beds, large kitchen with beverage fridge, smart tvs, beach chairs available, foot shower, nice/easy use blinds Cons: lack of beach view, stained couch covered in white dog hair, air vents caked with dust and mold, ceiling air filter cover was falling off, bathroom window ledge (shelf) lined with hairs, no broom, no real evidence of "extra" cleaning, low carport so you can't park under, sand driveway (most others around had gravel). Overall, we enjoyed our beach stay. The house provided adequate accommodations, but I won't be staying here again.

Nice location

Dune wasn’t pictured when rented but was certainly needed. House was better than pictured and kitchen was well equipped. Not a lot to do in Oak Island for young adults or teens but perfect for adults and young ones. Plan to cook because all restaurants are either booked or have a 2 hour wait.

Great property. Poor property management.

Great property and location. Unfortunately poor property management. Reservation fees were not clear when booking and that there would be two separate reservation fees for both property listing and property management companies. Could not use credit card for security deposit, and security deposit not returned until 45 days after checkout. Check-out time 9am is too early. Front door keyless lock was not working or improperly programmed and could only use back door keyless lock for entry. No chairs to take to beach.

Perfect little beach cottage

We loved staying at Moon Struck. It rained the whole weekend we were there, but the house was cozy and location on the beach couldn't be better. Two complaints: one was that the pillows were very uncomfortable. They were unusually high and hard, so advise you bring your own. Second was that after we booked, Oak Island accommodations called us and said we owed more money for our dog - which VRBO had already quoted in its price to us. We also had to pay extra insurance money. So, beware the additional costs of an already expensive stay.

The Sister's Vacay !

What a wonderful beach home ! This was a perfect vacation ! The rental had EVERYTHING we needed to make the place our home for seven days. A very open floor plan was just what we needed. The sunrises & sunsets were spectacular. Thank you VRBO for being so kind and ensuring we enjoyed our stay ! The beautiful decorated Christmas tree in the living room was the icing on the cake !

Relaxing Vacay

We had the most relaxing vacation! The house was well furnished , and open. We had a couple of issues, the faucet on outside shower was broken and the door on the bedroom with twin beds would not stay shut. In the middle bedroom, the bottom handle on dresser was also broken. Only minor concerns compared to the amenities . Wonderful experience !!!! Will be back!
