Not as advertised

Property was on a dead end street of poorly maintained buildings adjacent to the freeway. Three locks to get to the apartment tells you the state of the neighborhood. Pictures did not depict the reality of the dark, bars on the windows setting. Left after seeing it-did not stay there.

Oakland Apartment

First floor apartment in a house slept four people comfortably. Stairs to entrance. Interior layout of rooms is quirky, as one might expect in a conversion. Heat varied widely from room to room and we could not figure out how to adjust it. Nearest BART station is MacArthur, 1/2 mile walk. Street parking was not hard to find. Neighborhood is urban. Shops and restaurants are walkable. Owner very responsive. We were satisfied with our stay.

I would stay here again. Roland was easy and quick to communicate with, the place was large, clean, and quiet. Parking is a block or two away, but you can unload suitcases in front of the house. As it is street parking in the city, plan not to leave things in your car overnight: being them into the house with you. Selam is a restaurant just across the street and it is open early to late (though possibly that's due to Ramadan right now).
