Apartment in a quiet village
We stayed in Obertraun for two days while we toured the area by car. The apartment has a large living room and kitchen. The living room has a sleeping sofa that can accommodate another person, but we used it as a living room. The resort that the apartment is affiliated with, Dormio, provided some basics, like dish soap, in a welcome package. The kitchen was reasonably equipped, but it did lack some pots and pans. The apartment is not located in the main resort complex, but in a separate small hotel, which is not staffed. The main drawback for us was the bedroom, which has a large bed that takes up almost the entire floor space of the room, making it awkward to get in and out of. Younger, more nimble, people will probably have less of an issue with this than we did. Additionally, the wifi only worked in the living room and kitchen, not in the bedroom. All in all, we were comfortable here. The resort offers some amenities that are extended to this property, including a swimming pool. There is also a small market that offers a number of food items. The staff was helpful and pleasant.
