Beautiful, Historic and Private Retreat for Couples-limit 2 people

The Studio is a truly unique and beautiful property, both inside and out. Located in the heart of the village within walking distance to all the harbor front attractions, The Studio is tucked away, shady and private. The multi level patio is nestled among live oaks and cedar trees. After a total renovation in 2022, the interior space features an updated look that is more spacious, more functional and more inviting than ever! The Studio is an adult only, pet free, smoke free space. Smoking is allowed outside.


This building was constructed in 1993 and used for 15 years as a working art studio. It is set back off the road, amidst giant live oak and cedar trees, and sits alongside my home, one of the islands designated historic houses. The two buildings are joined by an open breezeway behind the main gate, but when guests are in residence in the studio, we both have separate entrances on opposite sides of the property. The Studio provides all the comforts of home in a private, quiet and tree shaded setting, with lots of attention to detail. I have tried to make the Studio somewhere I would want to stay, well cared for with lots of personality.

You enter through a totally enclosed multi leveled courtyard space complete with artwork, jasmine, hot/cold out door shower and grill. There are chairs for lounging and a dining table for mealtime. Your parking is right outside the gate. Inside, the studio is colorful, unique and furnished for your complete comfort with one queen bed downstairs, a double bed in the upstairs loft space, sofa, flat screen TV, fully equipped kitchen and bath with tub and shower. There is a desk and office chair perfect for working while away! The Studio provides full linen service.

This is the perfect romantic and private getaway for two. The Studio is located within walking distance of the Coffee Company, Zillie's, the harbor front and all downtown shops and restaurants.

All Studio guests are strongly urged to buy cancellation insurance through VRBO. We are an island 30 miles off the coast. Things happen, to people and to the island. The ferry service to the island can be affected at any time in unpredictable ways restricting access to the island. And, we have hurricanes from June through October. Please protect yourselves.

Check in was super easy and the place was ready to go for our visit. It was clean and well appointed, with everything we needed to make food and have an awesome trip. Really convenient to restaurants, shops and things to do. The beds are comfortable and though we didn't use it, they even have a grill and a nice private courtyard to spend time in.

The Studio exceeded our expectations in every way. It was cozy, comfortable, thoughtfully furnished, and full of character. We especially loved the artwork and decor, which made the space feel warm and inviting. The private patio was a true highlight. We spent each morning there enjoying coffee while listening to the birds and soaking in the peaceful surroundings.It had been 30 years since our last visit to Ocracoke, and staying at The Studio made the trip even more memorable. We can't wait to return and would highly recommend this wonderful place to anyone visiting the island.

We loved this beautiful retreat! What a lovely place to relax in Ocracoke. The location could not be better! We rented bikes and rode everywhere on the island. The porch and outdoor shower were fantastic and inside the home was just beautiful. If you have a love for very cool art and tranquil surroundings this is the place for you! Debbie was so welcoming and kind, super easy check in & check out. The place was spotless, can't wait to return.

We LOVED The Studio! Debbie was a fantastic host and responded quickly to our questions. The studio was beautiful and very well equipped with everything we needed. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was great. We really loved the location as we were able to easily walk to the harbor and nearby shops and restaurants. We will definitely be back!

Spring Getaway

Perfect location! Easy walk to the coffee company and Zillie’s as well as all the restaruants. The private patio is a great spot for morning coffee and afternoon reading. We would love to go back!
