Great location, but unfortunately that is where our positive experience ended. The condition of this property went far beyond a poor turnover cleaning. Signs of prolonged neglect and lack of deep cleaning and maintenance all over.We traveled with our one-year-old, whose knees and feet became brown from crawling on the floors. He repeatedly picked up human hair from the floors and put it in his mouth. Throughout the house we found accumulated dust, dirt, debris, extensive cobwebs, dirty baseboards/corners, buildup on the A/C unit, and even a sneaker left behind by a previous guest.The upstairs tub we had to use for our baby had visible grime and pink/dark buildup around deteriorating grout and caulking. Furnishings were extremely worn; one couch is broken to the point that you sink to the floor, and the upstairs sleeping accommodations included rolling cots.The washer states “small loads only,” yet even a few baby clothes failed to spin properly and smelled so badly afterward that we had to use a laundromat.We did not expect luxury. We expected clean, functional, and maintained. There is a difference between an older cottage and a neglected one. Particularly frustrating, the same management company rents the cottage directly across the street for the same weekly price, despite a striking difference in condition.We documented these issues extensively with photos.
