We were excited to spend time with family that lives in Omaha; however, upon arriving in the home, there were a number of issues noted right away. Molding coffee grounds in the coffee maker, dirty dishes in the dishwasher, debris hanging from a bathroom vent with something dripping down the wall, food drippings frozen in the freezer, and debris built up in the light fixtures. Pictures of these issues are attached. We spent the first hour or longer just cleaning before unpacking. Not sure why we were going to be charged a cleaning fee...Additionally, we found out that the AC was not working and was reportedly repaired the day prior to arrival, but still not working. Owner should have confirmed prior to our arrival. Bedrooms upstairs were very warm in the evening. There was one AC unit that serves the great room that was not under our control located in the basement, causing the first floor to be too cold in the morning. We had rented a week, but moved out after the first night with owner offering us a full refund that never materialized....ending up charging us for the first night at a rate 3 times more than our weekly/nightly rate. We continue to work with VRBO to get a full refund with the owner only providing a partial refund as of this feedback. This could be a great rental, given the size of the home, location near a park and playground, and if cleaned properly with operational AC unit. We drove across country to spend a week here only to have to relocate.
