Great location, close to beaches and shops. Excellent buffet breakfast. Clean and comfortable. Room keys had to be reset several times during our stay, so this could be improved.

We didnt actually stay at Astoria. We stayed at a sister hotel which was hotel Bristol and just lovely. They had to move us due to closures.

A very enjoyable experience

The people at check-in, check-out and restaurant were all very very helpful and friendly. We slept in and missed the buffet breakfast hours so the staff went out of their way and made breakfast just for us. The room and bathroom were nice (and clean). Even though we didn't book one of the front view rooms, the view from our windows was still spectacular with the moon rising over Kvaerner Bay and the lights of Rijeka.

Hotel Cancelled Our Reservation

The hotel decided to cancel our reservation on the day of our arrival so they could accept a large group. While they transferred our reservation to a neighbouring hotel, it was an older hotel that was worn around the edges, whereas Hotel Astoria is supposed to be newer and modern. The person at the front desk simply told us of the change and stated that there was nothing more that could be done for us. No effort to compensate us at all. We made our Hotel Astoria reservation in January 2017 for a September 2017 date. To cancel our reservation at the last minute is unprofessional and thus this hotel does not deserve anything except a negative review. Thankfully the staff at the hotel we were transferred to understood that we were unhappy and tried their best to make up for this unfortunate situation.

Nice stay in Opatij

Nice small hotel. The room is the same... we miss parking but the parking house is very close. Overall great choice and good value for money. And yes, delicious breakfast!!!

Hotel Astoria& Hotels.com a recipe for disaster!

After booking the hotel one week in advance and been charged for the two nights I was about to stay there. We flew for 20 hours and drive for another 3 hours to get there at 1 AM to find out that they didn't have any room for us even though we called that evening and been confirmed that we got the room! I'm not sure who to blame Astoria hotel or hotels.com but in the end my vacation was not going well from the start I have to mention that they made arrangements for us to stay at a different hotel in town but still didn't washed away the stress they have provoked.

When we arrived at the hotel Astoria, we found the hotel is closed. We´ve got no information before. So we looked for another hotel. We booked the hotel Astoria via Expedia. We did not get a refund, neither from the hotel Astoria nor from Expedia. Never ever I will book via Expedia.
