The Space:

This spacious 3,500 square foot home sleeps ten, and is the perfect place to get together with family and friends to make the most of your vacation. The outdoor area is truly the centerpiece of this home, offering a private pool, patio with seating for everyone, BBQ, and outdoor shower. For a change of scenery, beautiful Skaket Beach is just a three minute drive away. With plenty of dining and entertainment options in the area, such as The Captain Linnell House, Hog Island Brewery, Nauset Beach, The Jailhouse Tavern, Rock Harbor Grill, and Orleans Bowling Center, you will always find something fun to do nearby. Inside you will find a well stocked kitchen, washer/dryer, living room with mounted flat screen TV, master bedroom with king bed and nicely updated en suite full bathroom, a small bedroom with twin bed and crib, and another half bathroom on the first floor. Up the stairs from the living room are two more bedrooms, one with two queen beds and the other with a full bed and twin bunk beds. There is also a second floor lounge area/game room with a built in bar located above the garage, and central A/C throughout the house provides comfort on even the hottest of summer days. Overall we enjoyed our stay. The proximity to Skaket beach was ideal for our family with little kids. The house itself had a great big room for gathering and having meals. The carpeting in the bedrooms was musty and could use a replacement. The outdoor furniture was dated as well and when we arrived needed to be cleaned with marshmallow stuck on the table and lemon rinds on the patio. The pool is also not heated so it was a little too cold for our 1 year old to swim. The ping pong room/bedroom was over the garage and would have been great for kids but there is access to the pool from those doors and they do not lock from the inside so having young children in that area was not ideal. Del Mar responded quickly and offered to clean the outdoors but we had already done upon arrival. The inside of the house was clean and the kitchen was fully stocked. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Overall, a very nice experience

The house was very large, more than enough space for our multi-generational family of six. The kitchen was extremely well outfitted (even an ice cream maker!) with plenty of plates and glasses but could definitely use more forks. As for the listing, I would recommend adding that there are bikes, a Keurig, beach toys, and beach wagon so families don't bring those from their homes. I would also add that there is an outdoor gas firepit, that was enjoyable on a cool evening. My one and only "complaint" was that the pool wasn't heated. We booked the house for the pool but it was too cold (even in the last week of August) for it to be enjoyable. I will say the listing does not state whether or not it is heated so this is not a ding against the property. The management company was very easy to work with and I would definitely book with them again.

Family vacation

Our family trip consisted of 4 generations: I was the oldest: mother, grandmother, great grandmother, (and of course the trip was on me) so I was very comfortable in the huge master bedroom on the first floor. It had a large new bath with wonderful shower. However the bedroom layout of this house was not really good for 3 more couples and a 24 yr old grandson. My daughter and husband ended up on daybeds in the playroom which is over the garage and not convenient to a bathroom (bring twin sheets if you expect to do this) one couple with infant was comfortable in the larger upstairs bedroom (2 queens). The other couple was very uncomfortable in the other upstairs bedroom (a saggy double and 2 bunks). Single grandson ended up in the “4th” bedroom (tiny) with his feet hanging over the end of a twin bed. All that being said, we had a good time! The kitchen is huge and well outfitted; the living room is big with comfy big sectional couch (smallish tv), dining area with room for 8. The pool and sitting area was lovely and worked perfectly. One recommendation: a railing should be installed for the stone steps outside the master bedroom down to the patio. I felt that was downright unsafe, especially considering I had had recent knee surgery. For a family with parents and children who can share bedrooms, this house would work very well. It is especially well located for all the beaches, market, restaurants, and main roads to all the other cape attractions.

The house was spacious and had lots of room ! We truly loved the pool and the pool service people were wonderful. Eating and grilling outside was special in the warm weather. I would highly recommend this house because it was well supplied along with the super markets being close by along with so many restaurant choices. Hope to rebook and return soon

Beautiful house and pool

Our family loved the fully stocked house and gorgeous pool. They had Nest thermostats but we didn't seem to have control of adjusting. They were always set at 69 degrees which was colder than we prefer. But everything else was just as they described plus many extras. There were plenty of pool toys, beach chairs, and bikes. Very private yard too!

The house offered amenities not mentioned on the website: beach chairs were available, a Keurig coffee machine, pool toys. The window screens were damaged or missing in several of the windows throughout the home, so we were not able to open windows despite the beautiful weather. Directions for use of the hearing and cooling system would have been helpful.

Terrific Cape Rental

Our family loves the town of Orleans. This vacation rental was perfect for grandchildren and parents. Near beaches and pool is always a plus! Loved the location on a quiet street with large yard for active children.
