This Victorian home was built in 1902 by the town's sheriff, Van Houten, for his wife. There is an air of timelessness and charm about this unique place that will transport you back in time. It has been carefully restored and maintained to retain its original beauty. The home is now open for the first time to the public as a luxury vacation rental. Right across from the Western Hotel, this Victorian home is centrally located. Huge kitchen, comfortable beds, black out shades just to name a few amenities. Large second story patio perfect for stargazing. Views from every window. Beautifully landscaped yard with a gas fire pit. Perfect home for a great vacation!

In reality, it’s even better than in the pictures! The space is generous, with a fantastic kitchen for those who love to cook, plus an outdoor grill. It’s spotlessly clean and fully equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay.

Perfection in Ouray - Hooray!

Everything about this property is perfect. Check in arrival was so easy and quick. We simply walked in the door to the splendid interior of this historic home. The kitchen was beautiful, well organized and well equipped. Decor absolutely gorgeous in each room -beautiful touches hit the mark for ambience and comfort. The location of this home in terms of day trips and just walking through the lovely town of Ouray was simply perfect . We have rented vacation homes in the past all over the world, and we honestly feel this is the best one yet!

Fantastic home and 5 star host

This is an absolutely stunning historic property. Best location ever and tons of room for everyone. Even more so, the host communication was timely AND Liza helped me out of a huge bind when my kids left some dresses behind that were needed for a wedding. I panicked, but Liza found them and had them to me in no time. Great experience all around.

Incredible House

I have honestly never stayed in a more beautiful, well-equipped, perfectly located vrbo. This house retains its historic charm while offering modern comfort. The view from the front porch is incredible. The staff respond promptly to any question or need. And you are perfectly located to access downtown, trails, the hot springs, or anything else you might want to do. We cannot say enough about this spot. If you get a chance to stay here, do!!

We loved everything about our stay. The home has been meticulously restored and is full of both historic charm and modern amenities. So convenient to all downtown shops and restaurants as well as trails, hot springs, etc. The owners were lightning fast with responses and incredibly helpful. We will definitely be booking again!
