We stayed for 2 nights in April 2018. Staff were lovely from the minute we arrived. So friendly and helpful.
We did the full day safari offered by Big Game Camp which was brilliant. The naturalist knew so much, was really friendly and accommodating. We saw leopards, elephants, crocodiles, monkeys and wild boar, amongst other animals (but I think we were particularly lucky). It was a brilliant day, would recommend.
The tent was very nice and spacious and had a comfortable bed and a fan. The bathroom was in a separate ‘room’ within the tent. The shower was just cold water and not strong so probably not one for washing your hair in. Basic but nice.
In the evenings we were taken to the campfire for a drink - lovely. Then dinner was outside, romantic. The food was tasty but the main course was disappointingly English on both nights - barbecued meat and fish with boiled potatoes and veg, plus some rice.
Drinks were reasonably priced. After dinner it was a little lacklustre as it was assumed we would go back to the tent which was dark with a small light - not ideal at 9pm! But we asked if we could stay at the campfire and have a glass of wine and the staff were very polite and said this was ok. It would better if there was a more lit area to sit in the evening and maybe a bar.
Breakfast was better with fresh fruit, toast, roti.
Camp was very difficult to find, you had to follow the sign for ‘Eco team’.
