Three bedroom apartment on the third (top) floor of an apartment building, directly across from Hotel Alga, and within a 5-7 minute walk of the Calella restaurants and beach. Private parking lot with an assigned space is very convenient adjacent to the building. Wonderful views from the deck to the sea made for a nice spot for coffee in the morning or an evening cocktail. Everything about the property was as described and pictured, with the only surprise being that we expected the separate toilet room to also have a sink and mirror (all five us us using the single mirror in the shower room was challenging at dinner time, only because of our two teenage girls :( ) Another standalone mirror elsewhere in the apartment, even perhaps within the clothing wardrobes, would be a great bonus, as would perhaps turning on air and/or venting the apartment prior to arrival. Otherwise, we enjoyed a lovely stay in this gorgeous town.Great value at this property.
Pros:
-Parking on site was very convenient
-Great location as you could easily walk down the hill to restaurants and beaches
-Clear communication for check-in
-Nice to have an outdoor deck with a retractable shade
-Good air conditioning in the living area and main bedroom where the units were
-Having a washing machine in the unit was very helpful. There isn't a dryer, but there is a big drying rack on the porch that worked well
-Felt safe with a locked gate to get in
-Reasonable price for high season in a place that doesn't have a huge amount of options
Needs improvement:
-no WiFi...I take full responsibility for this as it was not advertised as having WiFi and I should have looked more closely, but it didn't even cross my mind as I haven't stayed anywhere in many years that doesn't have this and I assumed this was a given. Just a heads up for international travelers that heavily rely on WiFi for travel and communication.
-air conditioning doesn't really reach the 2 smaller bedrooms, but with the fans in the room and keeping the doors open, you could keep the rooms tolerable, but not cool.
-This place has great potential, but it had a real lack of amenities. Little, low-priced changes would make a big difference. There were not any paper towels, there were only 2 small toilet paper rolls, the towels were cheap, scratchy and plastic. I would recommend having a welcome book that describes how things work, put some soft cotton towels out, have enough paper products.
