THIS FORMER HOME of cowboy and tough-guy actor Alan Ladd, who starred in “This Gun for Hire” and "Shane," boasts movie-star quality throughout: gated entryway, vibrantly appointed, huge entertaining spaces, comfortable mid-century modern furniture, open layout, and dramatic views of the San Jacinto Mountains. Also noteworthy, this luxury quintessential mid-century Palm Springs estate was designed by the acclaimed architect Donald Wexler whose elegant and cool designs are humble and focused on the beauty of the natural surrounds.. This property boasts a beautiful pool and jacuzzi and is bright and minimalist allowing the sunlight to grab the spotlight and dance with the vibrant interior decor. So private and exclusive, this property was selected to be part of the very selective “2019 A Peek Behind the Hedges” Modernism Week Tour.

Marble makes a cameo in the dining room table and in the glistening master bath. Three of the five bedrooms feature their own en-suite bathroom providing the ultimate in privacy.

With 2 sinks, 2 dishwashers, and 2 ovens, Sub Zero refrigerator, the kitchen is not only “kosher ready” but ready for a formal dining experience or just a backyard BBQ. The kitchen is fully appointed with every cooking amenity and waiting for your engagement or get-together.



Our Starter Kit to you is designed to get you through your first day only, it may very well get you through 2 or 3 days as many of our guests will attest to, but our design is to get you through your first day before you may need to go to a grocery store.

Your Starter Kit:
Your kitchen is fully equipped with pots & pans etc., nearly every utensil you need to use to cook with and cleaning products.
However, there is only a starter kit in each respective bathroom & kitchen of the following supplies:
Facial tissues
Toilet paper
Liquid Hand soap
Vanity travel pack soap, shampoo & lotion
Paper towels
Dishwashing liquid
Dishwasher tablets
Trash bags
Laundry soap
Dryer sheets

Cleaning fee of $325.00 added to all reservations


1. You must be at least 30 years of age to reserve any home with ModMansions. Guest must provide a copy of a valid
government issued photo id.
2. Your reservation will not be accepted or confirmed without providing a valid government issued photo ID and a signed
rental agreement within 36 hours of this reservation request to Jim@ModMansions.com, Owners of this property.
3. Parking: A maximum of 5 cars must be parked in the driveway. Street parking is prohibited.
4. Check-in is 4 pm and check-out is 10 am.
5. All homes are non-smoking. Smoking inside the properties is a violation of the rental agreement and subject to immediate
forfeiture of any money/deposit.
6. Exterior music of any level and/or amplified exterior sound is prohibited 24/7 by the City of Palm Springs Vacation Rental
Ordinance and your signed rental agreement, resulting in immediate house closure.
7. Our homes are for overnight accommodation only. No Parties or Events permitted
8. Dogs (2 dogs maximum) are welcome at our property with a $200 each non-refundable deposit.
9. The Pool is NOT heated.
However, please let reservations know if you would like to have the Pool heated.
Pool HEAT: Flat rate of $65 per night--three night minimum stay. Contact Mark@ModMansions.com at least 2 days prior to
arrival for this option. Pool is heated from 5am-9pm, to between 80° - 85°
If property is listed as having a Jacuzzi, then Jacuzzi & Pool HEAT combined OR separate has a flat rate of $65 per night.
10. Third Party Vendors such as Chefs, Masseuses, etc., need to provide liability insurance certification. Please advise
ModMansions.
11. CANCELLATION POLICY:
30 days prior to scheduled arrival date, you will receive a refund of any advance payments. 14 days prior to scheduled
arrival date will receive a 50% refund.
Between 0 and 13 days prior to scheduled arrival, no refunds will be granted.
No refund will be given for early departures.

Special event weekends, holidays (Christmas/NYE/Thanksgiving/Coachella, etc.) & long-term rentals (stays 28 nights +) no
refund will be given. Should ModMansions re-rent the property for those specific dates, then ModMansions has the option
of refunding the amount we were able to re-rent it for, up to the prepaid amount.
Rates:
Published rates are based on standard occupancy, do not include cleaning fees nor a combined 12.5% percent tax which includes City of Palm Springs room tax and a TBID Tax Assessment.

Payment Schedule:
An advance Deposit (50%) is due at the time of signing the contract with ModMansions. The balance is due 90 days prior to your arrival at the property. In complex long-term reservations, payment arrangements may be made by contacting us directly.

Utilities - (stays of 28+ nights)
If staying in a home, with its own private pool, for 28 nights or more, the guest will be required to pay a utility deposit of $1,000 to $3,,000 depending on the property. This deposit will be used to pay the actual monthly gas and electric bills and copies of the actual bills will be provided to the guest. Should the stay exceed 28 nights and utilities used exceed the utility deposit, the guest agrees to pay an additional deposit to cover the remaining stay. This is not a source of income for ModMansions
Additional Fees/Terms:
• 3-night minimum stay required. 4 & 5 nights required during Holiday dates and events. Ask ModMansions for details.
• Cleaning fee of $325.00 is added to all rentals.
• Optional spa/pool heating has a fixed rate of $65 per night. Please let us
know at least 24 hours in advance of your stay. (Not all properties have a Jacuzzi)
• City of Palm Springs Transient Occupancy Tax is 11.5% and TBID Assessment is 1.0%
• Please note the difference between In Season and Off Season Rates:
In Season: November 1 – May 31 Off Season: June 1 – October 31
Higher rates apply during holidays such as Thanksgiving, Christmas and NYE & special events. Please contact
us about dates you have in mind.
• Lost keys are charged $125 per item.

• The City of Palm Springs prohibits exterior music and amplified sound 24/7. As per your ModMansions rental agreement,
8:00 pm is "Quiet Time". So, in order to ensure a most wonderful and enjoyable stay for you and your guests, please
share and familiarize yourself with the above information and your rental agreement.
WiFI, Internet & Smart TV’s --The National provider of WiFI & Internet is Spectrum.
Smart TV’s are App based only. Guests are responsible for their own Usernames & Passwords.
Suggestion: Bring along your Apple tv, Google tv, or plug & play programing entertainment.
Please note that outages are rare but it goes without saying that ModMansions is not responsible for any outages due to
the actions by the wifi national provider or outages by utility companies.

Swimming Pools :
Our pools are exclusively for humans, NEVER for dogs. Pet fur can wreak havoc on pool and spa filters, so please keep them out so you don't incur repair charges. Instead, we invite them to enjoy the backyard from the grass or patio.

Our pools & gardens have fixed dedicated service days. For whatever reason that you may want to request an additional service when in residence, then you must email David@modMansions.com requesting your service. We will reach out to the service companies on your behalf and endeavor to secure services depending on their availability. These additional services will be billed to the Guest credit card on file.
Check Out Instructions:
1. Take out trash and place in containers provided at the property.
2. Dirty dishes? Pop in dishwasher, and push start. Don't forget the dishwasher tablet provided.
3. Strip bed of sheets and pillow cases and place on floor at the end of each bed.
4 . Place dirty towels, etc. on the floor of laundry room.
5. Left over food items? - Our housekeeping staff is happy to take home!
6. Please be sure to close windows and lock doors and place house key in outside lock box. Code to lockbox given at Check-In.

Beautiful house

We were a group of 9 staying to celebrate a birthday in Palm Springs. The property is historic and fabulous and was well located and incredibly well equipped. The kitchen had everything and then some. Management met us at check in and were friendly and welcoming, this was a relief as so much pre-stay communication on rules and guidelines was a little off putting. We had no issues during our stay and would love to go back.

Great location!

The property is as described. Check in was flawless and we were met by the owner and given a tour of the property, tips for getting the best of our 4 day weekend and an overview of the rules. The grounds are lovely, and we ate fresh oranges from the trees daily! The spacious villa was more than adequate for our group of only 6 but could easily accommodate twice that without feeling as though you would run into one another at all. They have 2 of every appliance! Thank you, ModMansions, for a perfect girl's getaway.

Our Palm Springs adventure

A group of friends from the East coast visited Palm Springs to reunite with friends who have retired there. We all fell in love w the PS area. Our lovely modernist home away from home was perfect! The Alan Ladd house is a dream and accommodated all of our needs. Mod Mansions delivers - you’re surrounded by the mid-century look at every glance, but have all the conveniences you need! Hangin’ with the Stars

Amazing Host & Property

Had an amazing time celebrating my husbands 50th! We had 3 other couples and the house was perfect for entertaining and housing many guests. We all had our own bathrooms and all the rooms were spacious. House well stocked. Best part was David the host. I couldn't pick up my hubby's birthday cake - David was gracious enough to pick it up and drive it over to the house. Amazing host and house - RENT THIS PROPERTY!

Fabulous Property

Our stay at the Alan Ladd estate was a perfect get away with good friends. The house was immaculate and big enough for 10 people. The pool and hot tub were very well maintained and heated to a perfect temperature since we paid for the pool and spa to be heated. The house is within walking distance of restaurants and shops. The Owner/Manager couldn’t have been nicer and more available. The kitchen and bar were very well stocked. I highly recommend this property for anyone traveling to Palm Springs. It is in a very desirable neighborhood and the history with Hollywood makes it extra special. We would definitely stay at this property again.

Great for large family stay

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this remarkable property. With a group of 10 family members, the abundance of space was a breath of fresh air. The bedrooms were spacious and the beds were comfortable. One of the standout features was the fact that each bedroom had its own bathroom. The patio and pool area quickly became the focal point of our stay. The breathtaking views of the mountains provided a stunning backdrop as we lounged by the pool and enjoyed breakfast outdoors. From the initial booking to our departure, the property manager was responsive and made sure all of our needs were met.
