Paradise Found

My husband, sister and I stayed for a month, mid February to mid March. The home was much nicer then even the photos showed. Large, comfortable with good A/C. Well stocked kitchen and BBQ grill was nice. The pool and grounds were exceptional. So many birds, monkeys, blue butterflies etc. The road up to the property was a little rough but we managed with a sedan. Recommend a 4x4 though especially if you want to travel off the main roads. It was the dry season so were asked to conserve water (not really a hardship). The property does not have drinkable water but we easily were able to refill the jugs in town. We were provided a full 5g jug upon our arrival and a nice bottle of wine. Any issues that arose were immediately dealt with by the property manager. The home owner was super helpful and arranged for starlink satellite hook up while we were there so had unlimited high speed internet. We wish we could have stayed longer. The area felt safe and there are 24 hour guards at the entrance. About a 10 minute drive to the beach. Lots to see and do in Esterillos and nearby communities. Highly recommend this property.

Great house and great location!

This is a beautiful property and a very comfortable stay! Our family enjoyed our stay here very much. Each bedroom has it's own bathroom and walk in closet which is a nice feature.

3 weeks in Esterillos

We came to Costa Rica because where we usually go for the month of March - Sanibel, Florida - was destroyed by Hurricane Ian. The price was right and CR is relatively easy to get to SJO from Boston via JetBlue. We looked for a house within 2 hours of SJO so that friends and fam could easily come without wasting a day driving, or taking additional flights. Casa Tweed was great - exactly as pictured. The 4th room is a den with a pullout sofa - perfectly fine for a nite or 2 - but no more than that. The pool was great for doing laps and hanging out, and we loved hearing all of the birds (macaws, toucans, hummingbirds etc etc) and monkeys in the trees overhead. Plenty of sun and plenty of shade for those who wanted it. easy drive to the 3 Esterillos beaches, but not really walkable (VERY hilly!). The house is in a secure neighborhood with guards at the gatehouse 24/7. When we arrived we were greeted by a bottle of wine, some local coffee and 5 gallons of bottled water - much appreciated! The a/c worked great at night, we turned it off all day when the doors were open. Kitchen was well equipped and 10 chairs and leaves for dining room table! management company responded VERY quickly to the few questions we had. Location is great if you want to be on the mid Pacific coast - we went south as Domical and up to Jaco/Tarcoles often. 3 hours plus up to Arenal and Monteverde. (If you go to Arenal - stay at Arenal Lodge!). One or 2 good restaurants in Esterillos - otherwise not great eating out options. That was fine for us - kitchen was great and there was a brand new grill so we could cook fish that had been caught right on our beach that day! The house had beach chairs, shopping bags, beach towels and noodles for the pool. Sheets and towels were better than in most rentals. 2 thumbs up for Casa Tweed!

Great place for our family to stay

We really enjoyed our time at Casa Tweed. The communication about the checkin/out was great and they helped answer lots of our extra questions about the area to make things more enjoyable. Really nice home with a full kitchen (including spices and coffee!), pool toys that kept kids entertained for hours, nice landscaping with some local wildlife (we had a monkey hanging out in tree), nicely maintained landscaping, and secure location. We enjoyed the close drive to beach, grocery store and eating options. Highly recommend.
