This was our second stay at the Sunshine Hotel and Residence and the whole experience was fantastic both time. The Hotel has one of the best location in Pattaya City Soi 8. The staff are the stars of the Hotel, the nicest, friendliest, hard working staff you will come across. Highly recommend a stay.

We had a beautiful room at the back of the property, but I can imagine that the rooms at the front might be a bit noisy at night with bars nearby. The buffet breakfast is amazing, with food for all tastes, including freshly made omelettes. The hotel staff is accommodating and very friendly. The hotel has 3 swimming pools, but we found the ground-floor one to be the best, with great cocktails and a happy hour deal between 2 and 4 PM.

Generally a positive experience here, but a rough start. Staff is positive and very attentive. However, first impressions of the property leave you concerned (explained below). I booked the ocean view room, which was more of a "roof top and some ocean view", but a decent view none the less. The breakfast had alot to offer which was great, they could improve on quality of coffee, maybe include the option of espresso. The main floor pool and general area is quite nice. Ok, so the bad vibe at the beginning explaing: (1) The elevator servicing my tower is not clean and in bad repair. Walking to that box to start things off makes you really concerned about where you are going and what place you have picked. The rug is beaten up, paint and scratches everywhere, dirty and smelly. (2) After getting all unpacked, I lay down in my clean looking bed I quickly discovered a strong foul smell! Pure rot. Made me jump out of bed like the bed was on fire kind of smell! I pulled off the clean sheet to discover a very urine stained mattress cover! Housekeeping responded quickly and replaced everything, but unfortunately the offending liquid had made it's way through the mattress cover into the mattress and it was still too stinky. I am not sure how this could have been missed by housekeeping! Anyhow, as noted earlier, the front desk people are very positive and supportive and gave me three excellent options of alternate rooms to choose from. All was good from that point on. Thanks!

The Sunshine Hotel and Residences is a good clean and affordable hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful. There are plenty of place to get a drink or food. Beach is only a few minutes walk from the hotel and transport is available. Close to markets and a 7/11 across the road. Have stayed several times and will be back.
