The hotel was really nice and comfortable. The reason for not giving it 5 stars was my very unacceptable experience with dealing with the front desk staff and their billing system.
We booked the hotel through Expedia and paid for the hotel before we went on the trip, except for the local taxes and fees, $107, which were to be collected at the hotel. That is fine, except when I checked in they put a hold on my credit card for around $1300, which did not make sense to me because we paid for the room ahead of time. After questioning the staff, I was unable to get a reasonable answer as to why, but I decided to go ahead and deal with it because I was trying not to let it ruin our experience there. So the night before we checked out, I asked to see my charges which should have been around $400. The nice staff lady handed me a statement for over $1000. Of course I questioned this and she finally corrected it and said there was a glitch in the system. So next morning when we left, I did not have a chance to get a final statement as we were in a rush to get to the airport. After getting home, I checked my credit card transactions and it had pending charges of $1300, $400, and another $1300. We had paid for the room from a bank account before going on the trip. I was told by the credit card company that these charges were holds on my account, and that they would drop off in 7 to 10 days. The $2600 hold is still showing on my account, 5 days later. So Beware of excessive charges!!
