Larchwood, a detached timber lodge, is situated on the edge of a forest, with the towering larches and unspoilt woodland offering a haven for wildlife, including red squirrels, hares, roe deer and many species of birds. Guests will delight in enjoying the entertaining antics of their bushy tailed neighbours! Watching the busy red squirrels provides an engrossing pastime, and nuts and seeds can be found in the shed to feed them with. In a prime position, overlooking Duke’s Pond (a medieval watering hole for Drovers) in a small, private development, Larchwood offers well-presented good quality accommodation and the opportunity to feel close to nature in idyllic surroundings. The countryside surrounding the lodge is unspoilt, with Greystoke Forest on one side and stunning views to Blencathra on the other. There are gardens to the front, rear and side of the property, as well as a generous decking area, offering ample outdoor space to enjoy the picturesque surroundings. Nearby are the charming villages of Greystoke, Caldbeck, Mungrisdale and Hesketh Newmarket, with their own pubs and local shops. Sitting between Keswick, Penrith, Carlisle and Ullswater, Larchwood offers an ideal base for exploring the northern Lake District and Cumbria. Shop, pub and restaurant 4 miles.

We stayed here during the February half term school holidays.

We stayed here during the February half term school holidays. The lodge was excellently equipped with everything that we needed and super-clean. Wifi very good. Within an hours drive to days out with lovely walks and scenery. With so much wildlife to enjoy back at the lodge. We will definitely be recommending this lodge to family and friends. Any body booking this lodge all you need to take is your clothes it’s beautiful in the middle Off no we’re the wild life is amazing to see but only a few miles from Keswick and Penrith so peaceful it’s amazing loved staying here for a great getaway with my husband and puppy ?
