Mas Des Fleurs is a secluded haven situated in the Jardins St. jacques amongst vineyards, fruit orchards and vegetable farms. It's a glorious setting with extensive gardens and a large spring water filled swimming pool, yet is walking distance to the historic and colourful city of Perpignan and only 10 minutes by car to the Mediterranean's long, sweeping beaches.

'Mas Des Fleurs' comprises 3 properties. It can be rented as an individual holiday home or as part of the cluster which is ideal for a large family group holiday

- 2 mins from the local Bakery which is open every day from 8am-8pm (Sunday 8am -1pm)

'Mas Des Fleurs' itself is bordered by an Apricot orchard, Olive grove and vine and palm tree nurseries, and is situated in the centre of a unique conservation area of fruit and vegetable farms called Les Jardins des St. Jacques. There is a lovely restaurant in walking distance from the farmhouse and 'Les Jardins SJ' is also home to a historic and picturesque village (Chateau Roussillon) and two first class vineyards. Plus, the beautiful city of Perpignan, with fabulous shopping, pavement cafes and historic sites is only a short bike ride or two minute car journey from Mas Des Fleurs. Throughout the year there are many festivals in the palm-tree lined city, while the old quarter is home to several multi-cultural food markets and full of fascinating Catalan architecture.

It's a truly superb region for any type of holiday at any time of year, with windsurfing, kitesurfing, walking , climbing, skiing, tennis, and golf all within easy reach. From exploring The Pyrenees and Spain to soaking up the sun of The Med or touring the vineyards of the Roussillon region, there's a new activity in every direction. Roussillon is the sunniest part of France with approximately 320 sunshine days a year. Autumn is a real treat with balmy temperatures providing a welcome break from colder parts of Europe. The Med resorts of Canet, Barcares, St.Cyprien and Argeles, all with expansive golden beaches, are just minutes away. The famous and beautiful Collioure, Ceret and Figueres in Spain are loaded with artistic history. All around are views of the majestic Pyrenees while the lush surrounding countryside is quite simply carpeted with sun baked vineyards. If all that was not enough, the lovely Costa Brava of Spain is Roussillon's southern neighbour.

Lovely peaceful secluded area yet very easy to get to Perpignan and beautiful beaches.

James was a fantastic host. Mimosa house was very quaint. Good sized rooms, one bathroom and very functional kitchen. Would definitely go again.

Mas des Fleur is a unique spot , a secret hideaway !

This charming place with a very friendly and interesting owner should be a secret. The pool is awesome, the house a unique French Catalan building sorounded by a wide range of beautiful plants and flowers . Forget about time and your plans but enjoy the premier rose of Val's instead. We will return and look forward to see this nice family again .

A laid-back September getaway

We normally stay in city centre locations but were seduced by the idyllic garden setting of Maison des Fleurs - and are glad we tried something different. Our time was split between relaxing days by the pool, excursions to local beaches and day trips to historic towns and cultural centres in and around Perpignan and the Roussillon area. James and his family were excellent hosts - James gave us some good tips for our stay based on his extensive experience of the region. If you are considering a relaxing break in the Perpignan Area, we would wholeheartedly recommend Maison des Fleurs. Thanks James.+ fam.

The swimming! Great see and pool swimming.

Beautiful pool. Very relaxing place, friendly family atmosphere. Location is great for city, sea and mountains and the market and art gallery in Ceret. Not as close to Perpignan for walking as we’d first thought so we used the car as it was only a week’s visit and we were keen to optimise getting out and sightseeing, though mornings were generally very chilled around the pool with a book. Cool New York loft vibe in mimosa house interior decor. Not for anyone with mobility issues due to spiral staircase. And who doesn’t like being treated by a daily morning hello as if you’re their favourite person by the dogs Dottie and Luis even though you know it’s cupboard love. Could be ok without a car, as many destinations are reachable by train so just bike or taxi to the station.

Nous avons pris cette location pour une nuit. Superbe endroit !!! La maison (2 chambres, 1sdb,avec petite terrasse privée) est juste magnifique, décorée avec beaucoup de goût, et très bien aménagée. Le cadre est très beau (jardin et piscine !). James et Ilona, les propriétaires, sont accueillants et sympathiques, merci encore pour leurs conseils.

Excellent séjour, parfait avec de jeunes enfants

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour chez James et Illona, deux anglais adorables qui ont acheté ce petit paradis parfaitement adapté à des familles avec de jeunes enfants. James et Illona ont eux mêmes 3 enfants qui gentiment prêtent leurs jeux dans le jardin, et à la piscine. Le lieu est organisé de la facon suivante : 1 appartement au deuxième étage de la maison principale (dans lequel nous vivions), 1 dépendance de la maison principale et un petit chalet en bois au fond du jardin. Malgré le fait que 4 familles peuvent vivre dans cette propriété, nous n'avons jamais été gênés par la promiscuité, le jardin étant conçu pour avoir des "petits coins" (canapés à la marocaine, piscine, terrasse privée + barbecue pour chaque appartement...), ce qui permet d'être toujours tranquilles. James et Illona nous ont accueilli très chaleureusement, ont été attentifs à tous nos besoins, et ont su nous conseiller concernant les coins à visiter dans la région. Une excellente adresse à ne pas louper !!

Delightful stay in October.

A lovely comfortable property set in a delightful garden setting. It was late in the season, mid October, peaceful yet warm and sunny everyday, unlike home (England). Very well appointed kitchen made doing some cooking a pleasure. Very friendly welcome and communications. Thank you. Plenty of great places to visit ( car needed) in the area.

Gorgeous place for a brilliant holiday

I can’t recommend Mas des Fleurs highly enough. We had such a wonderful time there, neither of us wanted to leave. It’s in a really beautiful setting with lovely gardens and an awesome pool. Ten mins from the beach and ten mins from Perpignan centre but really peaceful and quiet. The annexe we were in was really comfortable, spacious and well equipped. We had our own terrace for alfresco dining and even got a bottle of delicious rosé on arrival! James was on hand to answer questions and provide recommendations for excellent restaurants, bars, vineyards and things to do. What more could you ask for? We can’t wait to come back!

Amazing place with wonderful hosts

We stayed for 1 week at James’s 2 bed converted barn with our your family. The house, garden and pool are all fantastic, clean and well appointed. James was so helpful in recommending and booking great restaurants for us to go to that served excellent food and where child friendly. The house is a short drive to the beach or walk into Perpignan centre. We are looking forward to returning!

Everything we hoped for

What a wonderful place to spend our holidays, James & Ilona couldn't have been more helpful. We stayed in the Olive house which was perfect especially the lovely decking where we spent many evenings enjoying the garden and peace & quiet. The heated pool is an absolute gem and we made good use of it , we also used the bikes to get in to Perpignan which is a fascinating place quite a mixed history. So we would thoroughly recommend this property & we arrived home via the TGV and Eurostar with batteries fully recharged!

Relaxed surroundings

Our stay in Mimosa House at Mas de Fleurs was perfect for our 2 week summer holiday. The accommodation is modern, clean and very well equipped and sits within a beautifully landscaped garden. Our children aged 9 & 7 loved the pool as well as the play areas within the garden. We made the most of the bbq within the private courtyard too. Mas de Fleurs is a great base for exploring the region, in particular the short drive to the coast. El Racou beach was our particular favourite, a grainy sandy beach which never got too busy. There were also some good places to eat there. Overall Mimosa House gave us everything we wanted for our holiday and we highly recommend it.

Perfect late summer holiday in the South of France

Mimosa is a gem of a holiday home in the wall to wall sunshine of Perpignan. We appreciated the aircon in the bedrooms for a restful night's sleep. The location was fabulous next to the pool area making it easy to pop back to the gite for meals on the delightful terrace. Highlights for us were the heated pool in a tranquil and stunning garden followed by evenings in Collioure sampling the delicious local cuisine. Thank you to James and Ilona for making us so welcome...... I especially enjoyed cycling to the Boulangerie each morning for our croissants and baguettes. Fabulous summer holiday

What a cracking week. Mimosa offers really good accommodation - loads of space (incl aircon in bedrooms), fab kitchen, lovely outdoor BBQ/ eating area (note: take your mozzie repellent). The huge pool is heaven. Gardens so lovely, including fab veggie garden we were invited to pick from. Trampoline and play area brilliant for 2.5 and 6 year olds alike. Pleasant 30 min walk into Perpignan which is a great city to explore, eat/drink and to buy food/ wine to bring home. A day out at the beach at Canet Sud (go to Robinson for sun loungers and lunches/ drinks) is superb. James and Ilona are brilliant hosts. Can't wait to go back again (next time for 2 weeks!).

Great holiday!

We had a spacious property, cosy ambience, and the hearty hosts (James and his wife) makes us feel at home immediately. Very well equipped and furnished apartment. We didn´t miss anything. Nice relaxing garden, great pool, kids are warmly welcome. Top location as a starting point to visit Perpignan (5 min by car), beautiful beaches are only 10 min away. We left Mas de Fleurs feeling well recovered.

Excellent family holiday location.

All our family thoroughly enjoyed the facilities available at this holiday rental. The property is well managed and spacious. It would suit a family celebration where several families can stay and enjoy separate facilities within the same location. The beaches are superb with safe bathing for children. Perpignan is walking distance and offers some great sites and a variety of restaurants to suit all culinary tastes. Would definitely have another holiday here.

Stunning property with amazing hosts

My husband and I had a fantastic stay at Mas des Fleurs this summer, a secret oasis within walking distance of Perpignan. James and Ilona are fantastic hosts, recommending amazing restaurants, beach clubs and local music festivals to make our stay a week to remember. The Mimosa House is a beautiful gite, lovely and cool inside with a great terrace to enjoy a chilled bottle (or two!) of rose and a BBQ. We have already booked our stay for next year!

Child-friendly Oasis

We spent 2 fantastic weeks in this beautiful, calm and safe botanic garden. Great place for our children to play, and especially great swimming. Best holiday ever!

Idyllic, the perfect way to describe Mas de Fleur

Perfect apartment, air con a godsend with the beautifully warm weather. Best pool we have ever found in France. Great hosts, with their local knowlege directing us to the best spots. Family rule to never go back to the same place twice on holiday......which we may break !
