A roomy, good-value four-bedroom home in Halls Head with two lounges and space for the dog. It suits families, groups and work crews, and the Mandurah estuary, where the crabbing is, is about 5 km away.
Inside
The open-plan kitchen has an island bench with stools, a double fridge, a gas cooktop and a pantry, so feeding a crew for a week is easy. The main lounge has a corner sofa and a smart TV, and a second lounge with its own TV gives the kids or a night-shift worker somewhere separate to go. The dining table seats eight. Evaporative air conditioning runs through the house, with portable heating for winter.
Bedrooms and bathrooms
- Bedroom 1: queen bed
- Bedroom 2: queen bed, walk-in robe
- Bedroom 3: double bed, built-in robe
- Bedroom 4: single bed
There is an ensuite with a shower, and a main bathroom with a bath.
Outside
A covered outdoor dining area sits off the back of the house. The yard is being re-landscaped, so for now it is plain rather than a garden.
The area
Halls Head is a relaxed family suburb on the western side of Mandurah, with shops, supermarkets and cafés close by. The Mandurah foreshore and city centre are about 5 km away, Mandurah train station about 6 km, Dawesville about 12 km and Perth CBD about 75 km. The estuary and Peel Inlet are known for crabbing, fishing, boating and dolphin cruises.
Getting around
A car is the easiest way to get around Mandurah. Transperth buses and trains, Uber, DiDi and Swan Taxis all operate locally.
