Disappointed
The house was very warm. According to the thermostat, it was 78 downstairs and 80 on the 3rd floor. I emailed the local host. Saturday morning, we did laundry because 1 set of sheets did not appear clean. We noticed water on the floor in the basement. I called the host and left a voice message. On Sunday at 7:00 am, the carbon monoxide alarm went off. I called RedAwning, but they don't accept calls before 8:00 am. We evacuated and called 911. Luckily, no carbon monoxide was detected. The firefighter said there could be a problem with the wiring and suggested I let the owner know. I called and spoke to the host. He seemed annoyed that I had called 911 and asked why I didn't call him first. We asked how everything else was in the house. I brought up the AC and water in the basement. He claimed that he hadn't received my previous messages and made excuses. He suggested that we could leave a day early if we were unhappy. That was not a viable option for us. I was so annoyed by his response that I did not mention the smaller issues we had encountered. The house was not properly cleaned. We needed to clean the microwave before we could use it. The floors were dirty. We found items such as a bottle cap and a contact lens on the floor, and the baseboards were very dusty. And as I mentioned earlier, one set of sheets did not look clean.
