First of all my congrats to whoever orchestrated the renovation of this home. It’s beautiful!! Done in “farmhouse chic”, JoJo Gaines would be proud. The design and furnishings are tasteful and comfy. The king suite is large and the bed is amazing. There is plenty of hanging space in the closet although the owners may want to free up shelf space by putting all the excess bedding elsewhere. The only issue was the light in the room from the two streetlights across the road and the security lights from the Boise Cascade yard. Given the windows I understand that blinds would ruin the design aesthetics but…we happen to like a moderately dark room to sleep in.
The one queen bedroom doesn’t have an adjoining bathroom. You can access the bathroom going through the other queen bedroom or from a door off the kitchen. I mention this only in case there are three couples sharing the house. Might be a bit awkward for some. Perfect for a family with kids.
The kitchen was well supplied with everything we needed—bonus was the ice cream in the freezer!
The homeowner was great about getting back to me with my questions…yes to hairdryer, great bath products and most importantly A/C for our summer stay. When we got locked out (keypad battery died) she was hiking in the mountains and didn’t have coverage so response was slow but, her handyman got it fixed eventually and the timing was perfect as we were just finishing wine tasting for the day!
The location was good..out of Medford but still close to wineries and eating places. For breakfast you have to go to Debbie’s Diner ( 5 minutes away). Some of our fav wineries were 15-20 minutes away…RoxyAnn, 2Hawk, Naumes, and Paschal. Troon is farther [45 minutes) but well worth the drive up Applegate valley). If you go to RoxyAnn, they have a huge selection of picnic supplies (local cheese, crackers, sausage, mustards, and amazing produce from their orchards) and best of all is their partnership with Rogue-ish Smokers, a BBQ food truck with the most rubs I’ve ever had—and given that I’ve lived in the south including Memphis, Atlanta and Dallas that is saying something!! We loved Pomodiri Osteria in downtown Medford. Amazing Italian food. Good cocktail. Wines by the glass were marginal.
Would definitely stay here again
