The ecolodge is set in the hills near Pigg's Peak, with a lovely view over the surrounding country. It's on the rustic rather than luxurious side, which is exactly what we wanted. It's very quiet and peaceful and the staff are all absolutely fantastic. The drive up to the lodge is on a logging track so proceed with caution, as it's not kind on the suspension of smaller cars, but still perfectly accessible all the same. There are shorter and longer walks in and around the nature reserve that can be undertaken from the lodge itself, and we spotted Red Duiker in among the trees close to the lodge early one morning. The falls themselves are lovely, but were not at their full extent when we stayed there. The location is in the north east of Swaziland so bear this in mind, as it's a 90 minute drive to the main attractions in the valley the drive is incredibly scenic, but be aware that mist can sometimes descend over the mountain road, making visibility very poor in some sections. There is a lowveld alternative route that can be taken if the weather is bad. The town of Pigg's Peak itself is small but has a supermarket, petrol stations and various shops to let you pick up any supplies you need.
