On the surface, lovely hotel and bar. Our room was really nice - we paid for a bigger room and it was spacious. Everything is in a very good state of repair and really clean. However, it was directly above the bar, and so I only got about 5 hours sleep between the end service at the bar and the 5am restocking of the cellar. There is no advance warning of this! So, ask for a room away from the pub and you will be fine. Breakfast was ok, plenty of it, nothing special. Staff varied from nice to pretty grumpy. Central location was good too. On balance, i would stay here again, just request a quieter room.

Poor parking. Bathroom basin too small. Basin tap loose. Bedroom window didn’t close, meaning that every passing train woke me up. Food was good. Servers friendly and helpful.

Bed very uncomfortable, like sleeping on a slab, room decor was a bit tired, bathroom was very small, water pressure in the shower was poor and the sink was about the size of a soup bowl. The staff were very nice and breakfast was pretty good. Wouldn't visit again.

We stayed in the lodge opposite the bar. There was building work going on downstairs but didn’t interfere with our stay. Really nice room on top floor. Only negative is the tv was very small. Food at the pub was lovely.
