Wake up each morning to a beautiful view of Mt. Baker, the snow-capped Cascades, and the sun rising over Puget Sound at this scenically situated property atop the bluffs of Port Ludlow.
In this quiet community, you'll find the perfect place to relax, unwind, and explore the beauties of the Olympic Peninsula. Shine Tidelands State Park, the Port Ludlow Golf Course, and the center of town are all less than four miles away. Within a 25-mile drive, you can visit Port Gamble, dine out in Poulsbo or Bainbridge Island, stroll the lovely Victorian town of Port Townsend, board a ferry to Coupeville, and see the lighthouses at Point No Point and Point Wilson. For a memorable day trip, take a lovely drive to Sequim (36 miles), Olympic National Park via Port Angeles (52 miles), or Lake Crescent (72 miles).
This soundside retreat is the lower level of a larger house, with the homeowner occupying the portion upstairs (there is a shared interior door that remains locked at all times). Outside, you'll have your own private patio at the edge of the lawn, where you can sip your first cup of coffee in the mornings or watch for passing otters, orcas, and bald eagles at golden hour.
The interior is cozy, comfortable, and well-lit with generous windows. After a day of exploring, prepare a homemade dinner using stainless steel kitchen appliances, curl up by the gas fireplace with a good book, or find a movie to watch on one of two TVs - one in the living room, one in the bedroom. Central air and complimentary WiFi are provided as well.
THINGS TO KNOW The kitchen is equipped with stainless steel appliances and complete sets of cookware, silverware, bakeware, and serveware. You'll have complimentary tea and coffee using the coffee machine as well as all basics covered, including salt, pepper, spices, cooking oil, dish soap, and dishwasher detergent.
Parking notes: There is free parking available for 2 vehicles.
Security camera details: One on right side of garage facing the driveway. One at owner's unit front door eave facing the owner's unit exterior door entrance.
Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the âDamage Waiverâ). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit. More information can be downloaded from the "Rental Agreement" on the checkout page.
Due to local laws or HOA requirements, guests must be at least 21 years of age to book. Guests under 21 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the duration of the reservation.
Yes, quite so. Only critique of amenities is that the footing on the outdoor path needs to be firmer: stepping tiles felt loose. Also, the parking spot north of the garage was where we were directed to park but it was virtually unusable for our mid-compact car -- hedge needs trimming. However, the host himself told us where could alternately park. He happened to be there but if he had not been it could be confusing.
The view of the Puget Sound is beautiful. I also like the privacy. The kitchen and appliances are very good. Beds are comfortable. Furniture is comfortable. If the sofa bed is used it should be left open in case the housekeeper is not strong enough to open it. This is a very nice place and I recommend it, although the bathroom floor needs a good scrubbing. The shower is slow to drain. Maybe have a plumber check it out.
A beautiful and peaceful location. Easy access to any activity on the Olympic Peninsula. Only problem was parking. If you have a small car, it works. We had a mini-van (not our choice) and it was tight. Otherwise, we would love to come back and stay.
