Historic Guest House Located in Central City
Welcome to Multnomah House, a classic Portland guest home located in the central city. Built in 1904 this home maintains all historic charm but with the amenities of a modern home. Perfect for visitors who want the convenience and close proximity to all Portland has to offer with the quaintness of one of Portlandâs oldest historic neighborhoods.
Multnomah House is located in near the Oregon Convention Center, the MAX Lloyd Station and shopping and entertainment along NE Broadway.
Whether youâre in Portland for a vacation, convention, wedding or other event, you and your group will feel right at home. During summer months, you can enjoy the front porch and Mediterranean garden or in the winter sit in the living room and enjoy the gas fireplace. The main house is where youâll be staying while the ground level unit is occupied by the owner.
The kitchen is large and classic with subway tile wainscoting and beautiful fixtures. Completely stocked with all the items needed to prepare your meal de jour. Modern feature like a dishwasher and microwave also provided for real life demands.
There are two bathrooms. On the main floor, experience the life of the modern Turkish bath house. Toilet, sink and large double shower. Upstairs is a toilet, sink and a large claw foot tub/shower.

Summers can be enjoyed on the full size front porch, enjoying the Mediterranean garden.
We have a no pets policy and outside noise after 10pm is not allowed in keeping with our good neighbor agreement. Being a two unit home, some sound will travel between the ground level unit and the main floor of the house similar to staying at a hotel or living in a condo. Getting to the main home requires climbing 18 steps so this may be a consideration for some in your group. All bedrooms are located on the top floor of the house.
Parking is on street only. Some of the amenities mentioned in older reviews may no longer be available.
We want you to have a memorable trip so please ask for recommendations or items that youâll need during your stay. Weâll do our best to accommodate you and enjoy sharing our city with visitors.

We celebrated our daughterâs college graduation. We had a wonderful weekend staying at this charming house. The location was great. We walked to Broadway Street where they had many shops and restaurants. The beds were comfortable and the house was very clean. The space was open and we never felt crowded. I would highly recommend staying at this house.
This is a beautiful historic home filled with quality furnishings and kitchen items. No yard sale junk like many other rental homes supply. Beautifully decorated and in keeping with the historic charm. Lovely host as well.Only criticism is everyone slept a bit cold. Only coverlets on beds and no access to extra blankets. There are electric heaters provided in bedrooms, but we were all worried to leave these running throughout the night. The bedding and mattresses were very comfortable, however. This host did not skimp on interior design and/or furnishings. Its a steep price, but very well maintained.
I had a lovely stay with my family here while we were in town for a wedding. The home was just as pictured in the listing. Will was quick to reply with questions and it was an easy check in process.
My large family of 8 and I visited Portland this summer, and truly couldnât have asked for a better home for our stay. The rooms were clean and beds comfortable, bathrooms large and with plenty of amenities, and the kitchen fully stocked with everything you need. The location was also very close to everything we needed in town, and was extremely quiet even while appearing to be on a main thoroughfare. There was even a neighborhood cat who came by a few mornings on the porch to say hello. I so appreciated Willâs communicativeness and willingness to let us check in early for our stay; he even told us to grab any veggies from the garden that were ready to eat! We all said one of our favorite things about this vacation was not only all the amazing things to do in Portland and beyond, but how beautiful the home was as well. If we return as a family, or even with smaller groups, we will be renting from Will and his family again.
This beautifully maintained, historic home provided all we needed for a three-generation trip to Portland. The location is steps away from a Trimet Bus Stop and many restaurants and grocery stores. The host, Will, was extremely responsive and helpful.
