Mountain retreat near Hunter/Windham Mountain

This house was custom built and sits on top of a hill on 5 Acres of land, just 20 minutes from Ski Windham and 20 minutes from Hunter Mountain or about 25 minutes to Bellayre Ski slopes.

Our house is inviting with a wood burning stove and large stone fireplace to warm you up after a cold day on the slopes. All recreation and living areas are spacious with all new furniture creating a country atmosphere while providing some of the 'cheats' of modern convenience. You'll get a refreshing night's sleep in our bedrooms with queen sized beds, pull-out sofa bed, and futons in the living spaces to provide additional sleeping accommodations.

The kitchen design is an open floor layout with plenty of space for too many cooks! The washer and dryer are located in a separate closet hidden from view so as not to remind you of daily chores.


The Balcony is just off the living room providing access to the ''million-dollar-view'' of the surrounding mountains (take our word for it, the pictures DO NOT do it justice). The downstairs recreation area is nicely equipped with a full-sized bar, foosball table and ample sitting area in front of a huge stone fireplace. We have everything you need to have a great time and enjoy the Catskills.

Our home is setup so that when we travel from our other home we take no luggage and simply walk in. This home doesn't have 'rental furniture', 'a sparse kitchen', or 'crappy bedding/beds'. I can walk in from the grocery store and make dinner for 14 and enjoy the a fantastic night of sleep. Rest assured when you book our home we're immediately available for any issues. We visit the home frequently so it's kept in amazing shape.

Hunter and Windham are quaint little villages with a variety of shops and galleries in addition to cozy restaurants where you can savor a hot comforting meal. Make a quick stop on Route 23 to pick up natural fruits and vegetables at one of the many fresh farm stands. To work off your meals, Windham has an amazing golf course tucked away in the mountains. Miniature golf and a go cart track are nearby for those not keeping score! Grand Gorge is only 5 minutes away for more excitement.

Our house is located in Prattsville which is about 12 - 13 miles from Hunter and equal distance to Windham. Perfect location if you want to hit both mountains during your trip. Three of the bedrooms are located on the main floor. There is a master suite upstairs with it's own bathroom and the fifth bedroom is in the basement off of the bar area, does not have a window. There are three full bathrooms, two with a shower stall and one with a tub. There is one bathroom located on each level of the house.

Our minimum renting age is 25.

Fun Summer Weekend Retreat

Our men's book club had a retreat. The property is perfect for us. Plenty of room for all to sit around the table - indoors and out. Functional kitchen. Lovely deck. Fire pit. Great place. We will come back in 2024.

Surprise party

We had a surprise 60th birthday for my mom and it was gorgeous! The place was so clean and extremely roomy! There were 13 of us and it slept everyone comfortably. The property manager was GREAT he responded so fast and was so helpful with the booking process. HIGHLY recommend! We will definitely be back in the fall/winter!

Family Getaway

Really close to Hunter with a nice relaxing view! My family and I really enjoyed our stay. Only issue we had is when we first walked in, they house smelled like smoke/burnt wood due to the stove/fireplace. Also, took some time for the heat to kick in but once it did. Everything was fine. I would definitely recommend this place and would love to do this again sometime in warmer weather.

What a wonderful 2 week vacation! The home was perfect for large families and had everything we needed to be comfortable. The bar area was used nightly while youngsters could sleep soundly upstairs. The fire pit area and table both overlooked the most beautiful view I’ve ever seen. We played KUBB on the lower yard and spotted dozens of deer. The most peaceful and restful vacation we have had as a family. Our host, Peter, was one of the best we have encountered during our annual vacations. Thanks from all of us for one of our favorite vacations ever!!!

Beautiful View!!

We really enjoyed our family vacation at this location. The owner Peter was extremely responsive and cared about making sure we were happy and comfortable. In the beginning of the week it was unusually hot. He felt bad, came by and brought us a few extra fans and three bottles of wine! 🙂The house was clean and very comfortable. And the view!!! Very nice roomy place with fantastic view. Loved the wild life, deer, racoon and turkeys with bears near by. Wonderful water falls. Would go again...

Very nice view

Beautiful cabin, I love that it had a full bathroom in each floor (3 floors) so it was perfect for three families. Breathtaking view of the mountain from the deck. Has long dining table in the yard for outdoor dining, however the grass is long and as my hubby feared, there were plenty of deer ticks. We were very careful and sprayed ourselves(and especially the kids) with bug spray (deep woods off) and immediately showered and washed our clothes after we dined outside. Unfortunately, I still found one on me when we got home (thank God I found it and hubby was able to detach the whole thing off and I think it was on me for less than 24 hours). I still got the bulls eye rash around the bite and had to be put on strong antibiotics. I am hoping it will take care of it and I don't end up getting Lyme disease, because that is serious stuff. Place needs to be mowed regularly and keep the grass in the yard short if he will be renting it, or have it sprayed with bug spray to prevent this from happening. Also inside of the cabin was not clean, found little mice poop on the beds and pillows, as well as pieces of Cheetos under the bed and a rotten, moldy apple on the side console in the couch. We would rent this place again given that it will be cleaned the grass is short next time

Perfect getaway

We were a party of 8 adults and 2 kids and this home was just perfect. Pictures definitely do not do justice to the beautiful surroundings. Each and every room was comfortable and perfectly sized for every family. The cabin was so beautifullly and aesthetically designed. Peter was very responsive and check in was very easy. Would definitely love to come back again

Perfect location for weekend of skiing

House was just as described, fairly close drive to hunter mountain and very homey feeling overall . Beautiful outlooks of the surrounding scenery. House was perfect size for our group and Peter communicate with me very quickly. Next time we make a trip back to this area we’ll definitely be booking this house again!

Had a great time!

We took our adult children and their families for a ski weekend as a Christmas present. The basement area has a large bar, sitting area, fire place, a room that my 18 year son used as a bedroom with a futon. We did bring as tv for him to use down there because there isn't one. There is also a heated room for your coats, gloves, ski stuff when you come back and heated floors! Second floor has a nice kitchen, large dining room, wood burning stove, 3 large bedrooms and a large full bathroom. The view from the 2nd floor and deck are amazing! 3rd floor is a large owners suite and bathroom. Sheets and towels supplied! Had some snow overnight and they plowed the driveway, which is a hill, first thing in the morning so we could get to the ski mountain. Went to Wyndham and Hunter. Also took our 4 year old grandson to Bearpen mountain to tube. Perfect place for young kids to have fun and very close to the house. Owner responded very quickly and was awesome to work with! This house is perfect for larger families or a friends weekend!

Perfect Weekend Getaway

My friends and I had a great time at this property. There’s plenty of room to accommodate multiple guests, and our pup was happy to be able to join us. The fireplace, bar, and mountain views were the real winners of this property. Waking up to watch the sunrise over the mountains was an incredible experience. If you’re looking for a spot to go to with a group of friends or family, and love the solitude and quiet of being in the mountains, this is the place for you.
