Cosy en suite shepherd hut on the grounds of Historic building Samlesbury Hall

Glamping in the grounds of a 14th-century stately home
Shepherd's huts with en-suite bathrooms, heating and proper beds
The Wafflery with ice cream and waffles; large playground on site.
The Garden Room selling Breakfast and Lunches .

If you’ve ever fancied having the run of a huge country estate, take a look at these posh pads in a peaceful corner of the gardens at Samlesbury Hall, a gorgeous half-timbered medieval hall in the Lancashire countryside halfway between Preston and Blackburn.

As befits such stately surrounds, these handcrafted huts have all mod cons for a comfy stay: memory foam mattresses on the beds, a kettle for morning cuppas, and low-wattage plug sockets and USB ports to keep gadgets charged. The huts are heated to keep you cosy on chilly nights. Each hut also has an en-suite bathroom with a hot shower and towels provided. Smores kits, disposable barbecues and logs for the firepit for alfresco evenings are all also available to buy at reception 7 days a week 9 -5 .

You’ll pretty much have the run of the grounds here, so there’s plenty of space for the kids to roam about and play games; there’s also an excellent Mayflower-themed wooden playground at their disposal.
