Very good

Views were fantastic and drive to closest town to Sheffield was only 12 minutes for cafes & dinner. Perfect spot, drive to Cradle Mountain around 45 minutes. Everything about this place was perfect apart for the dusty accommodation. Could use a good clean & update to broken & dusty blinds, clean windows, loft space very dusty for sleeping in but got through it. There were other cabins on property, we were in the first loft cabin. Maybe the others were cleaner?
There was a games room which we would have used (table tennis & pool) if it had not smelled of mould, it seemed it hadn’t been used or sired out in ages.
Wouldn’t stay here again, might check out Sheffield stays next time.
Had a wonderful night stay. Beds are super comfy and everything was nice and clean. The huge kitchen with all facilities and a large window with incredible views was fantastic. It is like staying at an aunts house with books, games, dvds and pretty much anything you need. Short drive to Sheffield for food and not too far away from Cradle Mountain where we had been hiking. The only suggestion to make the accommodation top notch would be to get rid of some of the dilapidated outdoor furniture and fencing. Loved seeing the cows grazing and chooks wandering! Thanks for letting us stay.
The host was amazing, nothing was too much of a bother, he was warm and welcoming, could not have asked for a better place to stay. Suited our group perfectly. would and already have shared this place with other friends, and have no hesitation in staying here again. Amazing place.
Staff met us on arrival, we ran late and it was no problem. The cabin was simply amazing. The view from our kitchen and lounge room, breath taking. I would high recommend staying and will be back for a longer stay in the future ❤️
The property was amazing due to its location, cleanliness and all that was provided within the cottage. The back of the property with horse, donkeys, highland cattle and chickens was surprisingly a amazing thing to see. The game center was a good add on perk but game center needs some update otherwise would be better to leave it closed. It had so many things but all of the things were not in good working order. Within the property, locks for bathrooms didn’t work but rest was all amazing. Overall I would give 4.2 starts out of 5.

Amazing place but it was so cold and unit didnt warm too well. Animals were good to have a look at. There was no internet . Needed new blinds and curtains to try and keep the heat in.

Adequate but dated
Stayed in Gumnut cottage. It was adequate. Kitchen cupboards very dated but functional. Bathroom was fine but lacked towel rails. Blinds broken in main bedroom. General maintenance needed. Internet slow -property is in rural location which could account for internet slowness Good communication by owner prior to our stay
The interior was clean and comfortable but dated and a bit of a jumble. The exterior decks/verandahs and barbecue are shabby.
The grounds and amenities are a disaster. The property is generally unmaintained and untidy with overgrown gardens, broken fences, broken and rusted outdoor furniture. There is a shabby games room with features like a sauna and spa that are not functioning. It describes itself as a resort and once was but the lack of upkeep means it no longer qualifies.
This property was far more ran down than what the promoted photos show. It was very old and appeared not cared for. The person who greeted us was lovely however I would not recommend this property, especially those travelling with children. The playground and games room was basically unusable.

The property was well situated in nature and scenery was beautiful. However the condition of the cottage needs to be improved.
An absolutely gorgeous rural location, with fantastic views. Very photogenic! The cabin was very comfortable, rustic and homely. A real taste of rural Tasmania.

I do love this place. Yes, it does need upgrading, the games room needs some love, would be nice if the spa was fixed/working. However, my love of the animals, especially the Highland cows, farm stay outweigh the above, and this is why i return whenever up that way. Great location
Photos DO NOT reflect the property. 30 years ago this property would have been wonderful. Now, Everywhere is run down, tree house is unsafe for children. Activities room was dirty. Cabin was clean but so cluttered with unnecessary furniture. 6 side tables in 1 room? why? And a closet in the entry? Very cramped. Kids cracked their heads on the spiral stair case, myself also smacked into it. Sauna and spa are NOT AN OPTION. Spoke to owner who said it was closed because of covid. Then changed and said because of keeping costs down - but when asked why they wouldnt take photos down said they tried but internet wouldnt let them. Their own website has photos but she said she would not take photos down. She offered us a full refund if we left- too late for us to do so as we have little kids and quite ate. VERY DISSATISFIED AND DISAPPOINTED. Excellent location, lovely people, but dont like being mislead. Keep costs down sure, but be honest about what you have. Its a sad place of broken possibilities.

We were looking forward to our stay here but we’re left feeling very disappointed. Probably the biggest problem was the heating. There was a single gas heater in the lounge room that does not vent to the outside so the place filled up with gas fumes and smelled terrible, and we felt unsafe. The ceiling in the bathroom was mouldy, the shower head leaks out the side spraying cold water at you and the glasses in the kitchen were dirty when we arrived.
Also the facilities around the place have not been looked after and are nothing like what’s advertised. We were quite disappointed with our stay.
