Due to weather event my family missed a connecting flight to Punta Cana. I was very disappointed on how this had such negative impact on the whole trip. The flight, car service and resort accommodations all impacted. The resort showed very little flexibility and empathy. A lot of money was spent and additional costs took us way over budget. The staff and facilities were great. Everything else was terrible.

check in was the absolute worst! Waited almost 45 minutes for the check in!!!! The room smell old and musky.. same food serve everyday. And restaurant reservations was awful! Theres only 1 restaurant we wanted to try was the Japanese hibachi, and the earliest time they gave us was 1030pm ( what 7 and 8 year old eats at that late in the day???!!) and pirate ship water park os additional cost??!!!

The property is beautiful BUT the buffet food was not good, flies around, reservations for dinner must be done or you get nasty attitudes from hostess especially at Kyoto. Additionally don’t get sick because they send you on the ambulance to a private clinic not a hospital and charge almost 2,000 without medications. Your chance of stomach virus is very high too.

I was robbed in my room for over $100. The perpetrator came in my room while I slept and stole money from off the dresser in my junior suite. This was an inside job from employees at the 24 hour Strikers bar. I caught employees roaming from the Strikers Sports Bar where the junior suites are around 1am every night. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. There is a theft ring at this hotel. This is not a 5 star hotel. Saw bedbugs in my room. Roaches at 24hour Sport bar. Food was bland not worth almost $2000. Waiter and servers act like you have to tip. I am going to see if I contact the US Embassy in DR about busting this robbery ring at this hotel. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL.

Overall our stay at Barcelo Bavaro was amazing. We have enjoyed all the activities, food and atmosphere, all was quiet and relaxing . The theater performing was ok, will need some type of improvement so doesn’t look to repetitive. We love to come back sometime in the near future.

Cleaning OK, but the bed were not made properly . I honestly believe it would be better if there were to have services on the pool side as well as the beach you have to walk to the bar to get whatever you want to drink and eat. There’s no service within those areas. There no room service as well.

This is decent resort but not excellent , you have to take a lot of money for tips to be treated well!! We all know tips are good but the expectation is a lot higher than you think! Booked restaurants are fake ones it’s all the same in all of them! Waitress at the restaurant makes comments if you want something from them!! Nobody speaks English!!!

One of the reserved restaurants had a cockroach walking on the food, and also one on the floor near that bar. Next reservation restaurant, had red lipstick on a glass that the waitress poured water into. New York was the worst piece of meat we ever received, and did not eat it. Cancelled the rest of restaurant reservations, reluctantly only used the buffet. This was a very disappointing dining experience and it is upsetting that the only ramification from the manager of the resort was to offer us another restaurant. Plus, when we declined another restaurant, the manager did not follow up in another way. In addition, the room which we stayed in, had a stain on the couch ( I would not sit on that couch), the ventilation system was very dusty, daily we had to spray the room with deodorizer so the room would not smell and the shower/toilet room needed a deep cleaning. Would not recommend the resort and will not ever go back.

This place is huge has a bowling alley which I’ve never seen at a resort which was different the staff was wonderful….. but other than the Japanese restaurant the food may have been the worst food I’ve had while on a vacation I literally ate grilled cheese for lunch everyday from the buffet and I ate at the restaurants for dinner every night and I said with the exception of the Japanese restaurant they were horrible for example the steakhouse was the worst we ordered well done steak and received a raw steak and the potatoes weren’t edible so I wound up with chicken tenders of the kids menu and the Italian restaurant was just very average and the Mexican restaurant was terrible raw fish and bland food also I may have to take away a star for the fact that my wife saw a roach in the buffet line while waiting to get a undercooked omelette that the lady behind her had to kill since the worker couldn’t catch it
