Staff is very warm and friendly. Went to celebrate a birthday. Staff provided cake and sang happy birthday in spanish. rooms clean and quiet. Food is excellent- only ate at the buffet. Great entertainment with music and dancing.

I've been to Caribbean over 30 times and stayed at some of the most luxurious resorts and a few not so nice so at this point I know what to expect. I don't choose all inclusive resorts because the food is usually average at best and drinks are cheap no name brands that are watered down. Dreams was no exception here. Vacationing with small children makes it very convenient having all inclusive but don't expect to be impressed by food. Wine included was not drinkable so we would usually have to buy a bottle at dinner. Restaurants were barely air conditioned and men must wear long pants. I usually prefer a restaurant to have a dress code but this is not fine dining. Dress shorts and collared shirt should be good enough. First room we checked into was run down. Furniture was all scratched and drawers were broken. Closet and fridge doors were also broken. Room had musty odor and overall it was a bit depressing. So we moved to newly "renovated" room which was not much better. This resort is listed as a luxury resort. Definitely not. I would consider it an economy type resort except the price doesn't really indicate that. Then there is the beach...I don't know what happened here but it was horrible. The water was muddy brown and there was seaweed everywhere. So much so they put up barriers in the water to try to keep it off the beach which created a huge eyesore when looking out to the ocean. Every morning there was a huge bulldozer cleaning up. Imagine that view...stay away!!!

Nice all inclusive hotel

Pros: clean rooms and responsive staff. Kid friendly.
Cons: ocean had litter (not sure if usual or a fluke) staff did there best to clean beach several times per day. High pressure to attend a sales pitch day 1
Location: Events available through hotel--we did not use any.
The staff were very accommodating and helpful. Grounds and pools nicely maintained. Nice variety of food options with no reservations required.

Not So Priviledged

Pros: Juan Carlos on the beach was super attentive and always happy. Our Bed is our room was AMAZING... SLEPT LIKE A BABY!
Cons: get a new DJ for the disco. HORRIBLE. Also beds on the beach. Nightly shows can use some improvement (especially dj at beach party).
We travel yearly and stay at 4 and 5 star resorts and usually do VIP upgrades. Matter of fact i was in punta cana in June with my girlfiend. I was disappointed that the "priviledged" isn't much of an upgrade. I should've just saved my extra money. The people that don't pay for privy can still access privy beach with no question. Juan Carlos on the beach took great care of keeping our drinks full. Also the buffet was being renovated the whole stay so we ate in the "theatre" which looked more like a conference room. I am a legal secretary so I don't care to see anything conf room setting. I want island, outside air experience. The room was kept very clean by the housekeepers and they came twice/day for bed turndown service. I didn't like that we were supposed to have a mini-bar and snacks but after a couple days of not getting them we called and were told "we had to request it daily". Why would we have to request something I paid for in my "privy" experience? The nightly shows were just ok. And the disco music was HORRIBLE. the dj does NOT KNOW HOW TO PLAY MUSIC AT ALL! And I mean at all. The casino was small and didn't payout at all. Nobody was winning anything, not even a little bit. Also the food made me sick the whole time there. Not sure why but could not keep it in me.

Nice resort, outstanding staff, good food.

The resort is small and has a very intimate feel. While the rooms are a little dated from normal wear and tear, they were extremely clean. The grounds are manicured and lovely. The staff is outstanding, always friendly and eager to help. The beach is very clean, plenty of chairs with both direct sun and shade. The food was surprisingly good for an all inclusive resort. There were many made to order items at the buffet restuarant for lunch and good breakfast selection. The Italian restuarant was very good. I did not enjoy the French restuarant but my boyfriend's meal was good. The Seaside Grill was by far our favorite meal, the Ribeye was outstanding, in fact we decided to eat there again our last night. I would highly recommend this resort if a laid back and friendly atmosphere is the type of vacation you desire.

Below Expectations

Pros: The food was good, very nice not to have to make reservations at the restaurants. The pool area and the Spa services very nice.
Cons: Theirs a lot of things that should be improved, rooms need updating and overall service would be a good start.
Location: We didn't go off the property unless we went on a tour. There were some shops down the street, but did not go to them.
For starters, the service at the restaurants was fair to average at best. The servers didn't seem happy and weren't very friendly. Several times at breakfast we didn't get coffee or water until we were almost done eating, and to try and get refills on drinks, you were better off getting them yourself. Housekeeping services we're average at best. At least 3 days we had to ask for wash clothes even though they took some from the day before. Also, we didn't receive a new bar of bath soap after 5 nights, I had to take one off the service cart. She refilled our incense, but didn't give us matches to light them, so we couldn't use those. Room service options we're very limited depending on the time of day. Throughout the complex, their is no bar that you can sit at and enjoy and drink, you have to sit at tables or in couches and have a server get you a drink or go up to the bar and get it yourself. If you wanted to watch a sporting event on tv, the only place in the complex outside of your room is at the Night Club and they WILL NOT, I repeat, WILL NOT turn the music down to listen to the tv. We were there for 2 NFL games and could watch them, but have to listen to whatever music they had on at the highest volume levels. Someone asked to turn the music down or off and they said, management would not let them. Overall, I was disappointed about the resort, maybe I was expecting too much. I would not stay there again or recommend to other people.

Nice hotel close to everything g

Had wonderful time in beautiful place. The only issue I had was the transports to and from the hotel. Never made contact with the person st hotel to arrange transport had to go thru hotel to make sure it was arranged.
