Well, I doubt’s will be read. But I was underwhelmed the property is an older property that needs renovated for sure. The food was average at best. Tried every restaurant the best one was the fusion restaurant that we experienced. The rest were just very average and I say this because I’ve traveled enough to know good food when I have it. The first day we were there our toilet ran the entire day. They sent a person up and didn’t fix the issue. I ended up fixing it myself the second day woke up to no water whatsoever and they said effected the entire resort an didn’t return till just after lunch. The workers were very friendly. The people at front desk didn’t offer to extend a credit do something special like they did for other people. I don’t know why someone did but the guy that showed me what they did for him he stays here fairly often. I guess we’re at the years and they sent him up a large fruit display with a bottle of line cigar.The ocean was beautiful. The place was kept pretty clean for the most part so that was a plus. I have a possible 10 I would give it to a six over 6.5. But I will never go to another Rio property. Nothing was offered as a credit we should receive at least a day if not, two days of credit from our vacation.

The rooms need major upgrades. There’s are old, moldy and bathrooms are in bad condition. Having stairs in the room is bad idea. We have been tripping over them not stop. Housekeeping ladies were wonderful as well as restaurant staff. Beach is great, close and clean. You have ton remove cats from the resort. They are being torched by the guests and their kids all the time.

This is our second stay at the Hotel Riu Palace Punta Cana. The grounds and staff were wonderful, especially the night bartender at the Daiquiri bar. The food was good, as well, however, we noticed that some of the variety from our last visit was not available. For example, we could not seem to get bagels, cream cheese, capers, or smoked salmon together at the same time. There used to be a lobster option on a Thursday I believe, but that was not available this visit. Also, I believe the rooms are in need of an overhaul. Our bathroom ceiling in the shower was stained, the glass partition had soap stains, and the shower head did not have a consistent water flow. The room just seemed dated and neglected to me. The housekeeping staff was pleasant and accommodating. One stand out was that it was my husband's birthday during our stay and the housekeeping staff decorated our room with very cute balloons. That was a great touch. We do enjoy staying at the Riu and did have an overall good experience.

Multiple things were wrong with our room. Many of the outlets in the room did not work, the ceiling fan did not work, toilet wouldn’t flush. We put in work requests which were responded to but didn’t fix any of the problems. Service was also not great other than the waiters at the restaurants and the cleaning staff. Everyone else seemed annoyed if stopped or needed service. Lastly food was not good at all. I don’t have high expectations when it comes to the food at all inclusive but I have to say in the appx 15 all-inclusive resorts I’ve been to this was honestly ranks the lowest quality, taste, and selection of food out of all of them. I hate to leave a bad review but want others to be aware when deciding on a resort.

Our first room was run down. The couch was ripped, the lamps looked like they had ripped tinfoil covering them, the toilette wouldn't stop running, the shower was leaking and it looked like it hadn't been cleaned. We tried to switch rooms but there wasn't anything available unless we upgraded. I ended up upgrading and the room was a bit better but it was still rundown. Housekeeping didn't clean our room very often and when they did clean it, they did the bare minimum and left dirty dishes in the room. The entertainment was dull and boring. When I booked my room through Expedia, it said I was supposed to get over $1400 USD in room credits but when I got there the front staff said I didn't have them. I tried showing them my credits on Expedia and they said it didn't matter because I don't have them.
